A wHopper of a Head ache.

I said it before but will say it again, yesterday was just the first day of sales. They (DISH) is watching everyones comments closely and they will tweek things as needed if they see an issue.

I wish you could see things from my side in working with DISH. When DISH asked me to collect questions to send them you guys came up with a lot things which they never even considered.

I am sure with this launch there were configurations requested that they never imagined as well. :)

With your feedback things will get better, you guys are the voice of the DISH Network consumer and I am proud to say you have their ear. But with that said all changes will take time...but you can be sure when those changes happen you will find out about them here at SatelliteGuys first. :)

I'm sure there are many things they will get ironed out over time...but I have to say this: If ANYONE, ANYWHERE thought three tuners would be acceptable as a "whole-home" solution to many homes, they are smokin' some fine stuff! :loco:

There will be many homes that will need 2H/1J, or even just 2H only to accommodate the family's viewing/recording needs. I'm willing to bet you a LOT of 1 Hopper/multiple Joey families will find this solution less than satisfactory in actual practice. Not everyone needs 4 TVs (2H/2J) but a lot do need more than 3 tuners. And THIS problem is one they can fix instantly...just allow this to be an acceptable install. They're getting up-front fees and a new 2 year commitment.

Seriously, if Dish didn't think of the things that have been mentioned here on this forum, what are they doing? This is what they do for a living!! They ought to know all the in's and out's, up's and down's, better than anyone. Certainly the people who run the company and make these decisions ought to be familiar enough with their product and their industry to come up with the things that common people on an Internet forum came up with rather easily. Do they even watch TV???? If so, these things ought to be no-brainers! :what

but, but, but...you can record 6 channels at once, LOL.

I really like the hopper so far but they were really deceptive with the marketing IMO.

record 6 shows at once, ya right, only PTAT, not anything you want. it's actually 3 channel at once if you want to select them all like most people will think the way it works.

2TB hard drive, yea right you only get to use 500 of it or 25% the way you want

they have apps in the book that aren't even included (pandora for one)

home media is not working for me yet

That said, I still think it's a really nice upgrade over the 722 and I'm glad I did it. It's way faster, way better GUI, better set-up options, ect

2 Hopper 1 Joey just installed

RG6 Sweep Tested to 3GHz?
