Here is an item from today's SkyREPORT dealing with Miraxis Australasia and their Ka-band plans. Of special note is this:
The design features a system architecture which enables end-user customers to communicate using a simple desk-top receiver unit combined with a 66-centemeter outdoor dish antenna – a low cost, first- or last-mile wireless solution for television and broadband applications to all regions throughout Australia.

66 centimeters is about 24 inches or so. So much for Ka-band dishes being smaller than the current standard 18 to 20 inches. I guess they have to make them bigger to offset the greater potential for rain fade.
