722K software L661

Can anyone tell me how to know how hot my 722 is running. Have had 2 messages that it is too hot so have moved it and added a fan but would like to know more about this?

Man this is like a bad joke, no one has said how to toggle the volume limiter on and off. I have looked in the menu and I cannot find it. I am sure its there, but I can't find it. Anyone?

Yes we have in other threads

There is a thread on volume leveling. It's menu 6-7 then disable under the volume leveling. :DI been griping about how bad it sounds from 10 mins after I got it.

Well I know i have the new software since I now have the ads in my guide, but I do not have any option under "Dolby Digital" in the Menu for volume leveling. Just asks me to select a external decoder and line or RF mode.

Me too I get the audio drops in most of my premium channels, for example I watch new episodes of “THE TUDORS” every Sunday night, just get sick of this dish, gets audio drops at least 3 or more times in hour of episode, called weeks ago about the issue & still having problem. .they always have audio problems in most channles off and on!

722k?

Do you have a 722k? I assume you do or you wouldn't have posted in this thread. When you press menu menu what S/W version are you showing?

Is NOT ONLY 722K having this audio drops problem, is on all my receivers. I have 722K & 2 722’s & 612 all the same! And I watching the show on 722 having the same problem!

722k SW update

this version is supposed to do several things, biggest being ordereing PPV and accessing customer service through the ethernet port. Anyone tried it yet?

I'm thinking you have another problem. Since you are saying it is happening on 3 units all on your system. Quick audio drop out could be an LNB problem. The audio leveling s/w hasn't gone out to anything but 722k's.

My 722K was working fine until L661. Now it acts as though possessed. It is connected through an HDMI cable. There is now no sound unless I turn the receiver on before I turn on the TV. Then sound randomly disappears from random mapped-down (below 100)stations, but stays ok on the upper companion station in the 6300 range. Some random stations produce only an error message until I hit the magical red reset button. The skip forward or back buttons jump anywhere from five second to nearly five minutes a pop. I emailed customer support three days go and have received no response. I’ve done every troubleshooting trick in the book, including replacing the cable and then some. It is quickly becoming a royal pain in the neck.

Sure hope you have ext HDD to move stuff to. Sounds like you have a problem (int HDD starting to go bad) that happened at about the same time as the s/w update. Download your timers to your remote control call E* and tell them the sucker is dying & get it taken care of. cause that's where it is headed.

FYI on L661 - full release to all receivers starts Thursday

Digi, I guess when you say all receivers you mean the 722's since they are getting L661 even though I hope you mean 622's when you say all receivers.

NO, he means all 722K's as the 622 & 722 are getting L627 currently. The 622/722 will never get L661, they are different hardware from the 722K.

I have had two programs this week exhibit the 'skip to end' bug.

This is where it shows the entire program recorded, but at some point in it, it skips to playback over. There is no way around it. Tonight it happened on 'Lost', so now I have to wait for Hulu to put it up and hope no one tells me what happened.

I have also had two reboots today.

I hope this one doesn't get problematic.

I had this problem after a recent update. The only way I could "cure" it was to completely erase all of my timers, set DVR back to "factory defaults", delete all OTA channels, perform hard reboot, rescan my OTA channels, check switch to force guide download, another hard reboot, reenter timers and another hard reboot. Sounds tedious (and it was) but I haven't had that problem since I did this 3 weeks ago. Don't know if it's coincidence but I guess time will tell. I know your frustration (very annoying!!!).
