622 Records DSCHD on its own

I keep having an issue where the 622 keeps recording DSCHD by itself, there are no timers set or anything, I just keep getting DSCHD shows show up in the recorded listings. Is anyone else having this issue. I am getting tired of deleting City Confidential all the time.

Do you have neighbor close enough to you that may be using the same remote channel? I doubt the 622 is doing this "on it's own".

I have checked the timers and deleted all but three of them, for the three shows that I watch. No neighbor close enough to effect it. with my house I have trouble with the UHF being strong enough to go through the inside walls, let alone the double brick exterior walls. they just seem to appear, like saturday night, I set a timer to record Nascar to TV2 and for some reason it starts recording on TV1 and then TV2 is recording more DSCHD shows. I have no clue.

I check it everyday and nothing in the timers but what belongs there and then the next day there will be 2 or three DSCHD shows recorded. I have changed the remote address a couple of times just to make sure.

Sucks cause this is the only problem I have had with the 622, except the HDMI audio drops all the time, but I switched to component anyway.

Do you have an old house that may be haunted? I read that ghosts are very fond of the Discovery channel.

Sorry.... Sounds like you have a very unusual problem. Please post the results when you do get it fixed.

Interrogate every household member. Cross examine visitors with a sense of humor.

I crossed examiined everyone, i even went through and deleted all the timers and everything I can think of, no one was home yesterday and when I got home, there were 4 paid programming items recorded and 2 more DSCHD shows. the PP shows are from channel 406 I think it said something about TV Guide or something or other.

This is really weird. I would think that if someone in the house was randomly recording stuff it would be on the 625 that the kids use most of the time, not this one.

Get a spycam and set it up for a week to see who uses the machine. Perhaps the kids are doing it to get back at you for something like sending them to bed without their dessert. Either that or your machine is going slowly insane. In which case its best to fix it before it gets bored with Discovery and decides it would rather tape Jenna Jameson PPV..

But seriously, I would look to see if a neighbor has a dish and ask if he tapes that channel alot. And... perhaps its a good idea to change your remote frequency anyways.

Change the remote frequency assignments and then assign a lock code on your reciever and lock it and then see what happens.

Your remote might have a hard time working in the house but someone elses might be much stronger - you would be surprised.

I lost the guide and could not get it back with multiple front-panel reboots nor with a power cord pull. It was recording some on pass/all/new because it could not check for date although the current 2 on each channel were correct--it must use the guide instead. Finally rebooted from off and kept fingers off for 15 minutes or more and the guide was filled in. This caused an erroneous overlong (1.5 hr when stopped) old SG-1 recording blocking a daily CNBC recording by priority. So check for full guide, too.
