622 & 612 vs (2) 222k with DVR

I have two HD tvs. One in the Bedroom and one the living room. Bedroom has my 612 and the living room has a 622. I have an OTA attached to the living room but also subscribe to locals through Dish.

I'm having the crappy audio drop outs on both tvs for our Fox channel in Dallas and my wife wants to cancel.

Should I use this opportunity to dump both the 612 and the 622 and opt for (2) 222k with EHDs? This would also let me dump the $11.96 + tax that I pay for DVR service on both TVs...

Thoughts?

i am also thinking of doing the same as my dvr advantage is going up 10.00 a month plus my hd gold is going up 10.00 a month. got to cut cost some how. for what they are charging for dish hd, it really isn't worth it.

The 211 can not record and watch two channels at the same time can it?

If not, that might blow my whole theory...

Blarg! They get you every time don't they?!?

The minute the 222k gets DVR functionality, I'll move that direction.

DirectTV wants to charge me $299 upfront to get two dvrs, but I would get more channels for roughly the same cost (5 bucks more). Maybe I should look into that route...

Are the dropouts from the OTA channel or the Dish supplied one?

Dish supplied. OTA is kinda spotty due to my homemade antenna. So, I don't rely on it for recordings. I have all of the same audio issues that have been talked about forever on the board.

Antennas are cheap. I'm very happy with OTA and do not subscribe to locals from Dish. Plus, I get more channels.

I wouldn't switch providers just because one has "more" HD than the other. These things have a way of changing over time. The situation may be different a few months from now. Can't keep chasing after rainbows. Plus, there's the equipment to consider, and costs.

The 211 CAN record one OTA AND one satellite channel at the same time.

Switching from Dish to Direct, You will get ONE more HD channel, Dish has 64, DirectV has 65, regardless of advertising hype.
