One play turned a tight game into an easy to finish out victory.

OSU v Notre Dame in the final.

If the playoff has proven anything, it is indicating that the top teams should be playing each other more... if this was about competition.

The Tournament has given use the Top Teams playing the Top teams

Ohio State or Oregon had to play one another, Then Texas and then the Finals game ... those Are the top teams playing one another.
Georgia got knocked out, they wern't as good this year as they have been lately this year.

I think this is the Best Notre Dame team in Ages

Texas, when was the last time they were in the Top group of teams .
They are the ones that notoriously says "We are Back" after a Big Win and never get any further ... This year they did.

Ohio State is usually Up there, this year, like many, have to have someone Kick them in the Ass before they put it all together.

Just because Bama and Georgia is not in it at the end this year, doesn't mean the teams are no good.

I don't think the sec was as good as normally this year, maybe thats a Good thing.

I think the NIL/Transfer Portal is helping Other teams much more than most thought would happen.

If they did that, you will have better teams but with more loses, so we would be back to guessing who should be in the playoffs again.

Kinda a bit like FSU last year, undefeated yet didnt get in. Yet a powerhouse might have 2 or 3 loses itching to get in.

What makes a top team isn't all about rankings and records.

Of the semi-final, the teams were all top 6 (well, 3 to 6). I'm willing to apply an asterisk to Penn State due to them having the easiest route. But if anything, the playoff seemingly both justified the rankings in general, and its own existence.

The top teams were generally in the semi's. Hooray rankings. The rankings prove to be accurate, but not precise. The firewall is the playoff, which oversees the lesser of the well regarded. The "Top Two" teams dropped out, hooray the playoff to double check the rankings.

Personally, I think the best playoff would be a three game round robin of the top four teams. But getting the top four, it seems, it outside the capacity of the rankings system.
