Heading to tuscaloosa tomorrow to see Alabama play the Mighty Kent State :D

It is my daughters first time to go see Bama play football in person, so this is a perfect game for it. 11AM kickoff so we wont be late getting home, not a big conference game so if I miss alot of it by doing other stuff its no big deal.
Worst part is the projected game time temp has gone from 90 to 95...ugh. probably be closer to 110-115 in the stadium.
So how was the scrimmage ?

Watched highlights of Louisville and Marshall.... Jackson making it look easy against that sloppy defense but certainly a top player with good receivers helping him climb the ropes.

I'd put them at #2 for sure with Clemson #3 - I expect LV to go into death valley and win big.

Fifth string guys played a lot.

Did have two big injuries with our first two running backs though, so that's not good.

Good time was had, just too hot for that type of game.

It's funny. Often times someone has wished that both teams playing could lose the game.

With Auburn and LSU, I got a taste of that.

So Boise St is 3-0 against nobody teams yet slips into top 25
If they hire Jimbo I hope he takes our D coord with him!

FSU's Dcord isn't bad... they were just out played by Louisville for sure.
I wouldn't see Jimbo going to LSU when he's got it made at FSU. How much is he making at FSU anyway isn't that public and didn't he just have a contract extension?

Kelly is not a good D Coord, and the UL game has nothing to do with it. He fails to translate the teaching to the field, inexcusable with the talent he has been given.

Jimbo's base is 5 mil, and his buyout is 750k times 5. I just joke, I don't think he would leave FSU for LSU, but for some reason LSU fans think he has some tie to LSU, where he has been at FSU a good bit longer and built things his way. FSU pretty much builds and buys what he wants. I would expect Herman and Petrino to be real targets.

I have seen Briles mentioned but no big school is gonna touch that guy, he will have to go coach a few high schools before they let him back in.

I could see Briles getting back in by going in as a Co Ordinator first, then if successful then he will move back to HC.

LSU could go after Houstons HC or maybe steal another tigers team coach (clemson) .... I think Dabo would leave if he got paid enough he just comes across to me like a money guy than anything else.

I said I wasn't going to go to the TN/FL game. I was only going to tailgate. However, my buddy's wife is pregnant and she decided after hanging at the tailgate for a few hours that she wasn't going to go into the game because of the heat. I took her ticket and wow, what a game. Really really hot in the stadium, but well worth it to see that come back. I think TN wins again this week (at UGA), but it gets much more difficult after that. In my opinion A&M and Bama are the two best teams in the SEC so far this year and we get them back to back after UGA. If we go 1-2 in the next three we are probably still going to ATL for the SEC Championship, but if by chance we can go 2-1, then this could be a really special season.

Interesting stats so far for ACC QB's
http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...at/passing/sort/collegeQuarterbackRating/id/1

Lamar Jackson for LV and Jerod Evans for VT both have 13 TD's but Evans has only 1 INT vs Jacksons 3 INT's.... both QB's are nearly identical on COMP %
Evans having a better overall pass efficiency than any other QB in the ACC.

I have to say the ACC is loaded this year with awesome QB's.

Alabama's opening game starter at quarterback is no longer with the team.

Redshirt freshman Blake Barnett is transferring and has left the program, sources told AL.com.

While the former five-star recruit opened the season as the Tide's starter, he was pulled following the second series of that opening game in favor of freshman Jalen Hurts.

Probably a smart move. With Hurts improving and winning over the team, it would be a long four years as a backup. He will land somewhere in the Pac is my bet.

Never great though, but it is the way things are now. FSU is a prime example of recruiting well at QB but having low quality depth because of transfers, people punching girls, etc...

Hell Jimbo had to bring in looney tunes Golson for one season because Winston left early and Coker transferred. Now we have Francois, but the quality backup, Johnson got kicked out last year.
