2014 MLB Season

Pine tar gives a pitcher enough grip to throw a curve ball. Without it, he couldn't throw it, much less control it. A scuffed ball is different. The scuff can affect the ball.

After talking to several people, I agree with this. Johnny Damon was a definite **** You :)

Whats the difference in what Ellsbury or Cano did as opposed to what Damon did?

Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda ejected after foreign substance discovered on his neck
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...ine-tar-discovered-on-his-neck-001141489.html

I hate when anything sticky touches my skin,I can't imagine putting pine tar on my neck. At least he got caught this time. It's bad enough that it was YES Network pointing out the possible pine tar on his hand the last time he pitched against the Red Sox.

He got cheated and got caught. Good. I'm saying this as a Mets fan. I'm saying that if this was the Red Sox, the Yankee fan would be up in arms because they do things "the Yankee Way." They got a taste of there own medicine. Not only that, how stupid do you have to be to have the stuff on your neck?

Brewers unveil Bob Uecker statue located in the last row of Miller Park http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...in-the-last-row-of-miller-park-002516791.html

Thats awesome!! I love Bob!! Loved him in Mr. Belvedere and the Major League movies. Even loved him when he was at Wrestlemania 3 and 4!

Oh, yeah that.

Back to Bob Uecker. How about the scene in Major League when he says "Cerrano back, he'll need a rocket up his ass to get one."

Reds just can't stay healthy this year. They lose another to the Red Sox last night by 1 run. The have played 16, 1 run games.

... the Marlins TIED for first place! But now, they start an 11 game road trip. We shall see what happens. They have THE BEST record at home in the Majors....they also have THE WORST record on the raod in the Majors.

Rivera: I'd take Pedey over Robby

http://tracking.si.com/2014/05/06/yankees-mariano-rivera-red-sox-dustin-pedroia-over-robinson-cano/

''Nobody plays harder, gives more, wants to win more. He comes at you hard for 27 outs, every time. It's a special thing to see, a little guy like that who is willing to do whatever it takes,'' Rivera said. ''If I have to win one game, I'd have a hard time taking anybody over Dustin Pedroia as my second baseman.''

I've always said that Pedroia is the most underrated superstar in the game. Kind of ironic considering the baseball market he plays in.

I agree as well. Cano lollygags a lot but Pedoria gives you grit in every game.

Lets see if the Mets can win w/o there lousy bullpen. That road trip was fine but the bullpen screwed it all up.

Was really hoping to see history with the Rangers game tonight. Still proud of Darvish for taking it 8 2/3 innings.

It would have been tainted in my mind with the ball Ortiz hit earlier that dropped.

The ball Ortiz hit in the 7th was a hit ... period ... ball dropped between two players and they call that an error ?

Give me a break.

Official scorer said, If Ordinary effort had been made it would have been an out ... If Ordinary effort is determined like that, every play can be made.

Also find it interesting that had they not been playing the "Shift", Ortiz hit in the 9th would have been an easy out ... gotta love the shift.
Sometimes when I see it played and they have no one at 3rd base anymore, I wish the player would just slap the ball down the 3rd base line and he could run for days.
It's NOT really that hard to swing late.

Ortiz has bunted down the 3rd base line against the shift before, but not during a no-hit bid that I could recall. I give him credit for attacking the shift....
