2014 AL Central

On the bright side, Robbie Ray looked good again.
6 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs.

That said, hes pitched against 2 pretty bad offensive teams.

Honestly, I didn't see any for this weekend's games. That said, I'll happily take 2 of 3 against a good team on the road.

I don't expect big things from the Twins this year, but it is very encouraging to see them them regularly playing competitive baseball.

I'll be pleased with a 2-1 series win for the Twins.
You got your wish ....

Tigers open a 3-game stand in Baltimore this evening with Porcello going for win #6. I sure hope he pitched well (gets plenty of ground balls) and the Tigers bats come alive. We certainly didn't play our best ball against the Twins. I'm also contemplating going to the game Wednesday night...but that would mean spending the night with my mother in-law. There's a downside to everything, I suppose.

Ok, I give up ...
Who STOLE Ric Porcello and replaced him with a 7 inning pitcher ?

Notoriously he would have trouble in the 4th, if not sooner and be happy with making it thru 5.

The last 3-4 starts he's going deeper into the game and his pitch count is GREAT.
83 pitches thru 6.
Only 1 run given up, on 5 hits.

Porcello is pitching well again this evening...but so too is the Orioles pitcher. 2-1 Tigers going into the 7th. Oh, Porcello is done for the evening so we need some hits/runs or our bullpen has to shut 'em down.

or our bullpen has to shut 'em down ??????

This is the Tigers bullpen were talking about ... the only one I trust is Nathan.

What are you drinking , I want some of that.

A HUGE 2 run HR by Kinzler in the 8th inning gives the Tigers a little more breathing room.

Tigers up 4-1 in the 8th.

PS, if they put Coke in, I am turning the TV off.

In other news ...

Torii Hunter, next guy up after Kinzlers HR, gets drilled in the ribs and the benches clear.

I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid...just making a logic-based Boolean argument... ;) Anyway, we didn't give-up any runs in the 7th and we had a bench-clearing brawn (well, bench-clearing at least) a short while ago. Go Tigers!
