2014 AL Central

Also, I have seen enough of JD. Martinez, time to send him back to the minors ... supposively they said he hit for power when he got here.

So far since he's been here he's hit a whopping .219 with 0 HR's and 6 rbi, 10K's

FYI .... Tomorrows Tiger game is at 12:35 ...

I've decided to take Bill's advice and head to the game tomorrow morning (around a 90-mile drive). I have dinner at the Inner Harbor and then make my way back home after rush hour traffic (about 7:00 PM since I need to avoid both the Baltimore and DC traffic). It should be a long but fun day. Nite.

Miggy knocks-in two runs with a bases-loaded single to move his batting average to .300 (I think). I haven't seen JV pitch 'live' for a number of years (always managed to get the Brad Pennys and 4th and 5th in the rotation starters when back in town) and he has really matured as a pitcher - much more evidence seeing him throw in person. He looks like he's out there getting warmed-up these first three innings (i.e., pitch location vice coming out throwing 98 mph fastballs).

Lots of Tigers fans here at the ballpark; met a couple originally from Inkster and some youngsters from MI who moved here after college. Oh, JV has a wicked, bottom-dropping, curvevall working this afternoon. Go Tigers!

Double steal and a suicide squeeze in the same inning! what Detroit Tiger team is this :)

I don't understand why they warned JV. Why would he intentionally throw at the batter leading 5-0? Anyway, he got out of the inning without giving up a run. :)

I am not able to watch today's game so I didn't see the incident. I'm guessing it has something to do with the ruckus after Torii Hunter got plunked earlier in the series.

I heard a bit of today's game on the radio on my lunch hour: I would agree probably due to what has happened

That's what I was thinking. From what I saw, JV actually threw the ball behind the batter. Who does that intentionally? Anyway, JV got knocked-around in the 5th-inning, but he came back out and went 1-2-3 in the 6th. Plus, we got a HR from Raj. Anyway, Tigers are up 7-5 in the top of the 7th and I suspect JV will be coming-out since I see the Tigers bullpen warming-up, and I'm sure JV has tossed more than a hundred pitches.

Yeah, he probably didn't throw behind him intentionally. I didn't see it but I would guess he threw at him and missed. A guy like JV isn't going to aim for the plate and miss so badly that it goes behind the batter. He probably waited until they had the 5-0 lead thinking that if he got ejected it probably wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Jackon has been in a slump the past few games. It seems like he keeps striking-out with runners in scoring position. Anyway, Al Al is coming in (lord help us) so this will be my last post at the game since I will be on my knees praying. :amen:

Exactly ...
This was his way of standing up for Torii .

I just say...this is the first game I've been to where the Tigers won in about 4 or 5 years. They've lose whenever I see then at Comerica Park. Let's just say I won't be seeing any more games with my brother Steve. ;)

Maybe its your Brother thats causing the losing record at Comerica :D

Heard brad ausmus on the radio say, hey these guys are skilled pictures, but sometimes balls get away from them......just like it did from Robby Ray :) :)
