2013 NFL Playoffs/Super Bowl

Jimbo, what I mean is that if you want to be an elite qb and be one of the greats, why do you risk your life like that? I have no problem with him riding a motorcycle. The problem is that I dont think he was wearing a helmet. God forbid, his career could have been cut short. If you want to be one of the best, wouldnt you be a bit more careful?

That was what, his first couple years ? (maybe not that far back, but it's been awhile)

He wasn't elite back then.

It was nine years ago tonight when the Titans and Patriots played in one of the coldest games in NFL history, and the first ever playoff game at Gillette Stadium. Game temp was 1 degree with a wind chill of 22 below zero. The Pats defeated the Titans 17-14, and went on to defeat Carolina in the Super Bowl three weeks later.

Another one would have been the San Diego / Cincy playoff game ... I don't remember the year, it's been a while.

That was the 1981 AFCCG, and I believe that was the coldest game in NFL history. Wind chills at Riverfront Stadium were around 60 below zero. Another cold game I remember was a Raiders-Browns playoff game at the old Municipal Stadium following the 1980 season.

Temp will be around 20 degrees for the game here on Saturday. Not looking forward to that.

If you win Saturday (which I think you will), then obviously the AFCCG is in Denver next Sunday. Kickoff local time (MT) will be 4:30pm.....that could be VERY ugly!!

Who can forget the 2008 NFC Championship Game in Green Bay between the Packers & Giants? That game was played in 0 degree Fahrenheit weather. I thought that the linemen were crazy for playing in sleeveless jerseys, until they showed the Green Bay Packer Bikini Girls............

If Green Bay defeats the 49ers,& Seattle beats the Falcons, would weather history repeat itself(including the reappearance of the Bikini Girls:))?

I remember watching that game against the Chargers. It was 9 degrees or -9 I can't remember and the windchill was about -60

Yea Dan Fouts couldn't throw for sheet in that cold weather.Ken Anderson was quite a bit more used to it.

Still don't think any of them beat the Ice Bowl for the worst weather game though.-15F field was harder than rock.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crossse (then Wisconsin State University–La Crosse) Marching Chiefs band were scheduled to perform the pre-game and half-time shows. However, during warm-ups in the brutal cold, the woodwind instruments froze and would not play; the mouthpieces of brass instruments got stuck to the players' lips; and seven members of the band were transported to local hospitals for hypothermia. The band's further performances were canceled for the day

Peyton Manning 9-10 in the playoffs, WHY?

I read this yesterday, I encourage you to give it a good read (it is long, but extremely insightful and well written), it explains a lot of things about Peyton in the playoffs, and I share it here for two reasons:

1. For all of you to know the FACT that we need 53 men to step up, not just #18.
2. Show this to anyone who mentions "9-10" please.

Some interesting extracts:

- No quarterback has lost more playoff games (min. 15 attempts) when throwing zero interceptions than Peyton Manning (5 games)
- Why So Many Blown Leads for Manning’s Colts?
- No quarterback in NFL history has lost more playoff games (5) after leading in the fourth quarter than Peyton Manning.
- Peyton Manning is the only quarterback in NFL history with two lost comebacks (lost comeback: having come back in the 4th quarter and still lose in the end) in the playoffs.
- Why Didn’t Manning Lead More Playoff Comebacks? If the Colts were losing so many leads and playing so many close games

Well, you've got at least 1 wrong already! ;)

You're probably right since the odds of Baltimore beating the Broncos in Denver are slim. However, I like how the B-more team is playing and they have that Ray Lewis thing going on right now. Anyway, nobody will be surprised if Baltimore loses this game...but I get to move up from dim-wit to half-wit should they pull off the upset.
