I hope they lose at home, in front of all their La La Land, Johnny-Come-Late-Leave-Early fans. I wonder how many of them realize how easy it is in baseball to not make the playoffs. I'm presently living in the Washington, DC market, and the thickpskulled people here figured that since Strasburg wouldn't have an innings limit this year, that the only World Series pool would be the one where you bet on how many games it will take to clinch. But of course, they thought they had bought three more Superbowl rings when they hired Joe Gibbs back, and the Gilbert Arenas contract still makes the Carl Crawford contract look like a bargain. And as for Ovechkin...
The Dodgers have a financial plan that only works if they make the World Series every year. That plan works well for the Yankees. It works so-so for the Red Sox. Or worked so-so for the Red Sox, because maybe what the Red Sox have been doing for the last decade doesn't work any more when half a dozen teams are throwing around salary money like it is confetti.
