2013 AL Central

Don't underestimate the love and adoration some voting members have with WAR. If Trout finishes ahead of Cabrera in WAR (a most useless stats IMO) then you're hear all the nutjobs kissing Trout's ballsack and touting that WAR is all that matters. Like I said, serious nutjobs! Right now Miggy is leading Trout in WAR by a very slim margin:

1. Miguel Cabrera, DET 6.6
2. Mike Trout, LAA 6.5

Plus, what if Max finishes the season 25-1 with a 2.5 ERA. Certainly an MVP-like year.

The Media almost took the award from Cabrera last year because of these made up stats.
RBI and Avg don't mean anything ...
Miggy would lose in a battle with Trout because Trout is faster, thus making him a better all around player they say.
I didn't know that the award was for the faster player to win.

Miggy will probably win the MVP , but not the TC at least thats how I see it.
I don't think Miggy needs to win the TC, people now know how hard it is to do in the first place.

I've been listening to MLB Network alot lately (radio), they were discussing Scherzer and Darvish today, stating that they are very close, but leaning towards Max for the Cy ... also, I think they, (whoever votes) needs to decide if a Pitcher is allowed to win the MVP or not.
King Felix is the other pitcher that they are saying will be in the discussion

Tigers Omar Infante is back in the line up tonight.
Hernan Perez sent down to Toledo (I think it was Toledo, he started from Erie).

Alex Avila is on the 7 day Concussion list ... didn't know there was one.
Pena will start, Holiday came up from Toledo to back him up.

Another note, Avisail Garcia is in the line up for the Sox.

That was quite a play....not missing Jhonny Whatshisname in the least.

Great play and then right after that he flies down the line to beat out an infield single. He is probably the only go on the team who would have been safe on that play.

Nice article, thanks for posting it ...

Btw, isn't this writer the same one that yelled and cried that Cabrera shouldn't win the MVP over Trout last year ?

Keith Law was the ESPN writer I seem to remember being most vocal against Cabrera. Schonfield may have been against him too but I don't specifically remember him.

Either way that was a nice read. Even the anti Cabrera writers from last year are having a hard time finding negatives to write about him this year. Just about everything I have seen has been really positive.

Tigers run off 12 straight wins, then go and lose 3 out of 4 ... come on Tigers, get your act together ...

Gotta take care of business, beat the teams your suppose to beat and at least split with the better teams.
