2013 AL Central

Too many missed opportunities in this one especially early. Can't wait for Infante to get back I like Perez and his defense but he can't hit. Ah we'll start another 12 gamer tomorrow.

I like Perez real well, your right, doesn't hit, but he's young and may be the guy that takes over at 2b next year IF Infante doesn't come back.... that said, I'm sure Dombrowski and company will do thier best to resign him, gotta believe he's wanting to come back.

It's really nice to have solid D at 2b and SS .

From the sounds of the players, they don't seem to concerned that the streak is over .... just go out and start another one !

KC is coming on strong going 8-2 in thier last 10 and a 1/2 game behind the Indians ...

Miggy hits another HR this evening. I wish we could move him over to 1st or DH while he's recovering, but we're kind of limited in those options. Elsewhere, I'm not jumping on the Perez bandwagon. He's fielding the ball okay, but his bat needs to swing sweet singles before I get excited.

Miggy, probably more moving around at 1b than 3b.

Perez, I dont think he has been touted as a bat guy, think they brought him up strictly so we didnt loose defense at 2b.

I'm heading-out to run some erands and perhaps have dinner. I'll assume we have this one wrapped-up with a 7-run lead going into the 9th. JV takes the mound tomorrow and has managed to lower his ERA to 3.5. Hopefully we can win the rubber game tomorrow afternoon and head to Chicago where we play the [f]ailing White Sox on Monday.

They blew it already. If you can't hit that guy you're screwed for the day. That's why I said Omar needs to come back soon. We can deal with one middle if'er that can't hit, but not two. Perez sees nothing but off speed and swings at everything. Not sure why Santiago isn't playing right now.

Boy o boy Jackson has made some bonehead running errors lately.

Yup, seriously bad running day ... jacksons mental error in 8th getting doubled off when Cabrera hits another bomb that would have tied it up.

I turned the race on for the final few laps after Prince was out, turn it back and see they tied it up on a Martinez HR !!!

Stunningly both Tiger HR's in the ninth were against Mr. Rivera ...

Then they give one of thier own up in the bottom of the ninth .... ugh

46 Games To Go...

...give or take until the Playoffs. So what are your AL Central thoughts and opinions? Here are mine:

1. Tigers are going to win the Division by 12-games.
2. Kansas City is going to stay hot while Cleveland fades into 3rd place.
3. Miguel Cabrera will have a difficult time winning another Triple Crown
  • Chris Davis is ahead by 6-HRs thanks to a much smaller Orioles Park and Miggy missing some games
  • 25 of 46 remaining games are being played at home in spacious Comerica Park
  • If Cabrera does, in fact, win the Triple-Crown again this year, he will also win the MVP and become a legand
4. More house cleaning in Chicago after the White Sox secure last place by 10-games
5. I can't tell if Minnesota is going to move forward or backward next season
6. Kansas City ears a WC spot
7. Detroit faces Boston in the ALCS
8. Detroit wins the World Series - they have all the ingredience this year

I think Cabrera wins the MVP whether he gets the triple crown again or not. I think last season really opened up everyone's eyes and he seems to be getting even more respect by the mainstream media this year. I agree about #8 too. I really feel like this is our year.

Don't underestimate the love and adoration some voting members have with WAR. If Trout finishes ahead of Cabrera in WAR (a most useless stats IMO) then you're hear all the nutjobs kissing Trout's ballsack and touting that WAR is all that matters. Like I said, serious nutjobs! Right now Miggy is leading Trout in WAR by a very slim margin:

1. Miguel Cabrera, DET 6.6
2. Mike Trout, LAA 6.5

Plus, what if Max finishes the season 25-1 with a 2.5 ERA. Certainly an MVP-like year.
