For some strange reason, I'm suddenly getting bad vibes about this game. Could it be a hangover from Friday night? I dunno, but I'm still picking the Bruins to win Game 6......in a close one (perhaps OT).
For the same reason tonight's NBA game was not played during the afternoon...networks want to milk the series and ratings.
There was a time when the NHL Playoffs didn't spread the payoff games out over a bunch of days into many weeks... use to be every other night, not so much anymore.
Right now on ABC. I'm not a big basketball fan, but I think the Dallas Mavericks are going to upset LeBrew and Crew in Miami tonight. Nowitzki is only 1-9 from the field but the Mavs are up by 2 shortly before the half.
IMO the Stanley Cup Final should conclude before the end of May. Why play a purely winter sport with July just around the corner? It makes no sense to me.
For what it's worth,IT IS Wintertime south of the equator,well,at least Fall.
It use to be over about then until the Networks decided to only play 3 games a week .... must have talked to the NBA, the ones that only play one game a week.
I know it's on tonight, but I don't think I have had a basketball game on for more than 5 minutes at a time for the last 30 years.
While I'm the first one to criticize the NBA and their scheduling, let's be fair here. The NHL Playoffs started three days BEFORE the NBA Playoffs, but the only way the NHL finishes before the NBA is with a Miami win tonight and a Vancouver win tomorrow night.

Well, the NHL use to start the next series when the last one was over, but I think that all changed with the VS contract.
Now, when the series is over, they could wait a week before starting the next round.
I never thought we'd still be playing hockey after the basketball season was over. Maybe Bettman can extend the playoffs into July and play on an outdoor roller rink?

The 64,000 dollar question is...What kind of game to expect this evening after a long 3-day rest? Will Vancouver come out rejuvenated and ready to take care of business? Or will Boston come prepared to administer another pummeling at the Garden?
