2011 AL Central Thread

OK, Tribe win tonight, regain a share of 1st place.

Tomorrows game is for whoever wants 1st place !

Afternoon game tomorrow ...... Talbot vs Scherzer

After that, Detroit goes to Colorado and Pittsburgh comes to Cleveland.

He had only logged 17.1 innings prior to this evening. Regardless, our pitching let us down this evening.

Like I said, he's been thrown into relief, hasn't started since he got here.
Personally, I would swap him and Coke and move Coke back to the Pen, he did real good down there last year.

He's only been in 8 games ... era is about 2.00.
He's given up only 4 runs in those 17 innings.

FINALLY... the Tribe bats awaken! Let's hope they keep it rolling.

Hey Sky, any word on Travis Hafner's re-hab stint in Akron? How's he progressing? We could use him back in the lineup.

So far, so good (fingers crossed). If everything goes OK through the weekend, he should be back on Monday. We're desperate for a bat so hopefully he comes back as strong as he was when he got hurt.

side note

todays game was 2:09
yesterdays was 2:06
total for 2 games 4:15

gee ya think the Red Sox and Yankees can play ONE game in under the amt of time it took the Twins and Chisox to play TWO? ;)

I actually like interleague play. I like the national league style better and its always fun to try to see which of those amercian league pitchers can even put the ball in play. I love all the strategy involved when you have a pitcher mowing the other team down but you need a run late in the game. Do you let the pitcher bat knowing he probably can't get a hit or do you pinch hit for him? I know most people would rather have the DH so they can see the best hitters hit but I wish they would just do away with it. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN

Here is the one reason why I hate Interleague and really the whole schedule in general

Twins play the Brewers 6 times this year in IL
Twins play the Red Sox 7 times all year

Last year the Twins played the Brewers more (7) games than the Yankees (6)

Wouldnt the right thing to be to play the team in your league more than the opposite league?

Well, we're 7-games above .500 and in First Place...weeks ahead of my expectations. Cool. :) I just don't like what the Twins have been doing lately.

Yeah the Twins have been a thorn in the Tigers' side for the last few years. I think for the most part we all knew they weren't gonna hang around the bottom of the division all season. Hopefully their slow start gave the Tigers a big enough lead to hold on this year.

For those that are having baseball withdrawls...
