2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Lsts also rememeber the wings went 1-6 on the PP

With that lets bring on game two!

Why bring up the team's actual performance on the ice? So much easier to blame the refs! ;) :river

When the Wings win tonight, the refereeing will have magically improved...

No, if that happens then the Phoenix fans will be complaining about the refs.....

btw, do we have any Phoenix fans here ?

The worst call I've seen in a long while was in the Blkhawks-Preds game. A Pred, Larson(?) had the puck on his stick. A Blackhawk slashes the Pred and breaks his (hawks) stick in half! The whistle blows and the refs call slashing on THE PREDS PLAYER!!!!

The NHL is starting to remind me of the NBA, officiating dictated by the size of the TV market.

The Detroit Red Wings won in spite of their goaltending.

Jimbo, Howard has been very shaky- 7 goals allowed in 2 games.

Luckily, the offense bailed him out.

Either he MUST play better or they have to switch to Osgood.

They will not win the Cup with a shaky goalie.

Wings get a bad slashing call against them, the guy barley touched the other guys stick and it fell out of the guys hand (only holding it with one hand) and they get the call.

Relax, it's only the 2nd game EVER for him in the playoffs.
There were a lot of bouncing pucks on the soft ice in Phoenix tonight.
The Coyote goalie (who is much better) looked just as bad.

Every time one team scored the other team came back with a bouncing puck goal.

Two of the goals the Coyotes scored were Slam Dunks, you can't blame the goalie for them.
At least I don't....

The Wings finally decided to forecheck in the third period and some in the late second and it made all the difference in the game.
They pressured Phoenix and it showed.... it was Phoenix with the forecheck in the first 6 periods of the playoffs, Phoenix is very pesky.

Remember, they also are the higher seeded team, so they are not a fluke o be where they are.
It's not like previous years where the Wings are a 1 or 2 up against the 7th or 8th place team.

Yep, I've never seen slashing called when the guy obviously dropped his stick. Of course, that was nothing compared to the award-winning flop I witnessed in the 1st period. I'm just surprised they called Doan for that penalty with 5-minutes left in the 3rd...it was nothing different than the refs have been letting him get away with the entire series. Anyway, the teamed played better this evening but they still have to do better.

You mean there IS a rule stating that you cannot attack a player that doesn't have the puck ?
