Getting excited about the playoffs starting tomorrow night.

The intensity of the NHL playoffs is second to none!!

Here's the opening night schedule on VERSUS:

All Times Eastern

Wednesday
Hockey Central, 6:30
Game 1: Ottawa at Pittsburgh, 7
Game 1: Detroit at Phoenix, 10

Yup,
I get to come home from work and take a nap and get back up in time for the game !
Also be back up at 5:30 am for the next days work.

This is the 8th time the Bruins and Sabres have met in the playoffs, with the Bruins holding a 5-2 lead. BUT the Sabres have won the last two matchups.

Here's a look at the previous series...........

1981-82 Adams Division Semifinals (Bruins won 3-1)

1982-83 Adams Division Finals (Bruins won 4-3) (One of the best series I've witnessed as a Bruins fan......the series ended in OT of game 7 at the old Garden on a Brad Park slap shot)

1987-88 Adams Division Semifinals (Bruins won 4-2)

1988-89 Adams Division Semifinals (Bruins won 4-1)

1991-92 Adams Division Semifinals (Bruins won 4-3)

1992-93 Adams Division Semifinals (Sabres won 4-0) This was a stunning upset since the Bruins won 51 games and had 109 points.

1998-99 Eastern Conference Semifinals (Sabres won 4-2)

I know you're a Boston fan...and it always sucks knowing your team isn't going far into the playoffs....but there is always hope and prayer! Regardless, I think this will be the best matchup of the 1st round series. We shall see...

Tonight should be a great television night (albeit a late one) watching Criminal Minds at 9pm while getting ready for Detroit versus Phoenix at 10pm (EST). Oh, don't forget to visit the Criminal Minds Fan Forum - cheap plug, I know.

I get energized the entire day before the start of the playoff hockey!!! I'll be drinking Molson tonight...

Don't feel bad, I was only 6-months old when William Clay Ford family become the primary owner of the Detroit Lions. This began a 46-year era in which the Lions have won just one playoff game, and have become the butt of late-night jokester Jay Leno.

btw, in the Detroit market I'm guessing that the VS feed will be blacked out, thats OK, I'd rather watch FSN D anyways, but won't have the option in the next round, provided they get there.

Nope! The Pistons are playing on FSD and the Wings will be on Versus...and their so-so play-by-plan and color team.

I stand corrected! My bothers TivoHD guide confirms what I mentioned, but the guide on this Comcast HD DVR (and Zap2it.com) says otherwise. I just forced a guide update on the Tivo and it is still incorrect, which is surprising because I've never had a problem with the Tivo missing a recording or showing misinformaion. Anyway, I set a manual timer but the recording is going to be listed as NBA Basketball or some other nonsense. Well, at least we get much better play-by-play coverage.

Anyway, just a tidbit for those TivoHD/Comcast users.
