2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs

So outside of Digital Dude and Goaliebob (sorry if I have left anyone out) The Habs have become the Satelliteguys unoffical team :D

My Conference Finals picks:

Canadiens over Flyers in 5: HUGE goalie advantage (BTW, this would have been my pick even if the Bruins were here)

Sharks over Blackhawks in 6: After escaping the early rounds, I feel this is the Sharks year

Actually, I'll take the Sharks :D

IF the Hawks make it I'll hope for the Habs.

If it's the Flyers and Hawks, I probably won't watch it, but would see the Flyers winning.

Hossa effect !

That said, they'll probably win , just to ruin the Hossa curse!

True. But I have a feeling that if Nabakov holds up,and Marleau & Thorton take it to the Chicago they will prevail.I sort of have vested interest in both though I will admit. This has been a strange Stanley Cup chase.Philadelphia is a # 7 seed and they have home advantage. But that isn't always a good thing. We're playing excellent on the road now.
I have to think both series are going to be barn burners !

My Conference Final Predictions:

The NHL's final four could not be any more different.

The East Final is one that nobody saw coming- #7 Philly vs. #8 Montreal. You have two teams that have shown the heart of a champion throughout the spring. Philly has more talent, but so did the Caps and Pens- we all know how that went.

I think Philly can win the series- Halak has been a brick wall, but I don't know how much longer Montreal can continue to be outshot. Plus, teams that need seven games to win both of their first two series usually falter. I'll take Flyers in 6, but I could easily see the Habs winning in 6 or 7.

By contrast, the West Final is what most people predicted- Chicago and San Jose. 113 points vs. 112 points. Second overall vs. third overall. This is a heavyweight showdown. With all due respect to Washington, these may be the two best teams in hockey. Stacked with talent galore.

This series is a toss-up. In the end, though, I think San Jose will break through- I have it going seven games. I will be shocked if it is less than six.

BTW, as for regular-season series- Habs and Flyers split two wins apiece, while Chicago went 3-1 against the Sharks.

However, regular season games can be meaningless.

Chicago, like Detroit, was 2-0 at the HP Pavillion in the regular season- however, the Red Wings were 0-3 at the Shark Tank in the games that mattered- we'll see how home-ice treats these teams.

First time ever a 7 and 8 seed have met for a conference championship series!

It's nice to see some support for my boys, as long as Melrose picks the Hawks!

It seems I was on Versus after the Sharks-Wings game 3.

I still don't have my hopes up, this pleasantly surprised thing is cool.

Melrose picked the Blackhawks to win it all before the playoffs, so you don't have to worry.

P.S. Saw the clip of you. Nice hat.

Sharks got what they deserved this game. That in mind how cheap and dirty is Boland taking a tripping penalty then sending Versteeg to the box, allowing Boland to play on the PK.

Cheap crap like that needs a dose of Karma.
