2010 NFL Draft

I agree. The Browns have all the leverage in this one. Demanding a new contract with 3 years left is very unusual. And I do trust Holmgren gets something done in the end. Cribbs and his agent just need to calm down. What is it, his 3rd day on the job? I bet Holmgren doesn't even know the secretaries name yet! Let him get his feet in the door. His top priority was to rule on the coaching situation. He's done that. The next order of business is to get a GM. Then, he can deal with Cribbs. It's a long offseason.

I thought he WAS the GM as well as the other responsibilities he's got.

No. Holmgren's title is "Czar" or "President of Operations" (ala Bill Parcells in Miami). He's basically the first in command (next to the owner) and will make all decisions relating to the team and will be the face of the franchise. I'm sure he'll volunteer his opinion on who we draft or with free agents, but he also intends to hire a GM.

Sources: Heckert to be named Browns GM!

Just like I forecasted and with the Eagles done for the year....

The Cleveland Browns are expected to announce as early as Monday that they have hired Philadelphia's Tom Heckert as their general manager, league sources tell ESPN.

Fox Sports releases Mock Draft 3.0

Schrager: NFL Mock Draft 3.0 - NFL News - FOX Sports on MSN

It has Tennessee Safety Eric Berry going to the Browns at #7. Can some of you SEC/Tennessee boys speak on Eric Berry. I hear he's a stud. Any predictions for him developing in the NFL?

He's the top Safety in the draft, the Browns would do well go get him and very possibly will if thats who they decide on, seeing the top 3 are pretty much taken with Bradford and the two D Linemen .... so you've only got 3 others in your way.

I would love to see him drop to the Steelers :D

Browns Working out Tebow

It is now being reported by Matt Hayes of Sporting News that the Browns will be one of five teams to hold a private workout with the Heisman winner.

Browns president Mike Holmgren’s history with quarterbacks has been discussed ad nausem since his arrival. Historically, Holmgren has coached quarterbacks that were not considered to be at the top of their draft class into winners at the professional level. With the trade of Brady Quinn and release of Derek Anderson, it is speculated that Holmgren and general manager Tom Heckert will look to the upcoming NFL Draft for his future quarterback.

ESPN has reportedly invited Tebow to be a part of the draft day festivities. This will undoubtedly be one of the biggest story lines throughout the entire weekend.

Someone will trade up to get him mid-end of 2nd or early 3rd, if I had to guess.

The Browns have 13 picks overall I believe. The first one is #7 overall, then we don't have any in the 2nd round, but we do have 3 in the Third round. It's possible we use one of them to move up to snag a QB. Who, I have no idea.

Personally I like Tony Pike and Dan LeFevour for QB's in the later rounds.

Tebow is going to be red-faced when he's still sitting there on day #2 (or 3). :)

I don't think so .....

I think he fully expects to go on the second day, round 2 or 3.

Q. Are they bringing ALL these guys in for all the days, I mean if you thought to be a second rounder are you there on day one as well ?

I don't expect Tebow to go in the first round, but would not surprise me if he goes in 2 or 3 ............ or later

I could see Pike going in round 3-4, possibly sooner.
As for LeFevour, I'd like to say the same, but I think most don't know him as well and he'll be your late round guy.
