2010 NCAA Football Season

Yeah didn't really start on this forum till last fall, and the season hasn't started yet so I have time to chat it up a little. And yes the Pryor OSU has now is the same QB he's always been and you can credit OSU's ending last year with the whole team some of which graduated. He had a few good guys around him to help him excel a little towards the end of last year. I mean look at this article.. his own words that he mouths off clearly shows he's not a leader. He talked smack before the USC game for last year and USC showed him where to stick it... great game!

Edit: They have since removed the article..but it was there.

I see OSU losing at least 2 games this year starting with the one against Miami, then Iowa.

What?

You've mentioned that Ohio State will lose 2 games ...
Did you forget how the Big Ten played in last years Bowl games, they were pretty darn good....

The SEC guys all chant how good they are year after year, sure they always are good, they won the championship game, but what did they do over all as a conference ?

The Big Ten looked pretty good.

You talk a little bit about Ohio State winning the Rose Bowl, Iowa decisively winning the Orange Bowl, Wisconsin won their bowl game, Penn State winning against LSU. That showed, at this moment, the Big Ten is pretty darn solid

How did the SEC do in the bowls?

Final 2009-2010 Conference Bowl Record:

Mountain West: 4-1

Big East: 4-2

SEC: 6-4

Big Ten: 4-3

Big 12: 4-4

ACC: 3-4

Pac-10: 2-5

Sun Belt: 1-1

C-USA: 2-4

WAC: 2-2

They seem to of held their own just fine. Including 2 BCS bowl wins, one being the national title game.

I asked because I couldn't remember ....

The 3 Big Ten losses 2 of them were 1-2 point losses and one was 10 points.
So they didn't get blown out in any game.
Thats an IMPROVEMENT ! :o

Btw, good to see you Insider :D

Tyrod isn't perfect but he is much more of a LEADER than Pryor is regardless of throwing arm or other stats... being a leader for a team is much more than just being able to throw good or maybe asking Nebraska if they didn't think so from last year.

As for Kellen Moore, well this would be the first time he and ole Boise St goes up against a power house Defense that is very well known in CFB. Kellen will be lucky to stay on the field for very long with this defense coming at him and I don't see VT's offense staying on the field for too long either with a double running back team and possible Heisman contender behind Tyrod. Lets not forget this Offense for VT is coming back with more than they had last year and last years team scored more points against Alabama than any other team Bama played including Florida.

So you really think Boise St will beat the Hokies on a near Home Field only 3 hours of drive time up the road from Blacksburg??

I do.

And I would rather BSU lose as they will be ranked right up with the Buckeyes and Bama in the beginning.

Insider, I feel this is going to be a wide-open season where anything can happen.

There are no players who are slam-dunk Heisman possibilities, no clear-cut top 10 title teams.

This has the potential to be a very interesting season.

Oklahoma going from unranked to #8 . What do the coaches know that I don't? Don't get me wrong, I think Landry Jones is a good QB, but who can he throw to? The team doesn't have tested receivers and tight ends. The offensive line will probably be better (couldn't get much worse than they were last year). but DeMarco Murray isn't Adrian Peterson.

I have my doubts. Top 20 is a more realistic prediction.

wow... most of those teams are so far off on the votes it's beyond crazy. IMO they shouldn't rank a team till at least after the 3rd or 4th game cause right now its all speculation and some from last years results.

I agree, they should do like the Harris Poll (and BCS) and just wait until November before doing rankings.

I actually enjoy the preseason and early season rankings. It gives you something to talk about, and build excitement. Are they always right? Of course not, but it is still fun.

Preseason prediction: the kid that lives by the tree is going to be very disappointed come this Sept. 11th.

What a day for football that will be. I am considering a trip to see the Tide play Penn State. Tickets are ridiculously high, but it may be worth it.
