2010 NBA Playoffs

I always figured it was natural for refs to favor the home team. It is good for the attendance of the home team for it to have a better record at home so as to encourage and reward attendance, it is good for the league to have home teams favored in the playoffs because it tends to slightly prolong the series, and it is personally gratifying to the referees to be booed less frequently on close calls.

This applies to all sports...

If this series has been "fixed" it certainly isn't the refs who are doing the fixing. No game has been close enough to be decided by a few errant calls.

well....I did not say either a series or a game was fixed. I said that I believe him when he stated that some refs will be biased against certain teams or players.

All Together?

Even Moses Cleveland, our cities founder has "banded together"! (a city-wide phenomenon of wearing headbands that say "all together", in support of our Cavs)

Redemption! Do it for Moses!

Tonight, we find out what the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James are really made of.

One of the things I love about the NBA playoffs is they afford an opportunity for redemption. If it doesn't happen in the next shot, there's the next game. Tonight is the next game. The next shot at redemption.

Superstars can have off games. That's allowed. However, the true sign of a legitimate superstar is what happens following the off-nights. How does LeBron respond after the praise has turned to criticism, when the belief has turned to doubt?

Tonight we find out. Tune in folks. You won't want to miss this!

I'll add to it:

if there's a Game 7 on Sunday, it would draw blockbuster ratings, IMO.

... and Cleveland will collectively become a nervous wreck every step of the way! But isn't that what we all love about sports so much? The drama? The uncertainty?

Let's Do This Cavs! One game at a time! I believe again! This is Believeland after all! If you don't have hope, what do you have?!

I'm hyped for tonight's game .. for the dramatics I would recommend plenty of Kleenex

That's the spirit!!! :up :)

It's Championship or bust Sandra. I've accepted "growth" and experience for 7 years now. All I'm asking is for our back-to-back "MVP" to perform the way he's capable. If he and the best team he's ever been surrounded by doesn't, I am not afraid to criticism him. The kid gloves are off. No one is off limits anymore, not even the King.

How many years did it take for Jerry West to win a title? About a dozen with no titles with Elgin Baylor as a teammate, who was a hell of a lot better than any of LeBron's teammates, and four years at the end with Wilt Chamberlain before they won in 1972.

How many years did it take for Oscar Robetson to win a title? He played for years with Jerry Lucas as a teammate, who was also a hell of a lot better than any of LeBron's teammates, but he didn't win a title until he paired up with Kareem.

Great points. The more recent comparison, of course, is Michael Jordan. Did not win a championship until he was 27, in his seventh NBA season. And, Jordan's Bulls teams did NOTHING in the playoffs until another future hall of famer, Scottie Pippen, joined him in Chicago.

Lebron does not have any Scottie Pippens on the court with him, that's for sure. The Shaq who is out there now is a far cry from the hall of fame Shaq. He's a role player now. And the rest of the Cavs are a far cry from Scottie Pippen.

What are the odds anyone besides you and garlic breath cares more about the handshake than they care about the game?

He is the only guy that doesn't do it, proving the fact that he is one of the biggest egotistical a**holes in the game. He said last year he didn't do it because "he is a winner". What exactly has he won? Tim Duncan had no problem congratulating Steve Nash after the Suns swept the Spurs, and Tim Duncan is a prime example of winning over the last decade.

It's a handshake. Nothing more. Nobody knows what anybody did or said off the court. It shouldn't be the focal point of your viewing night. Jeez, enjoy the game.

It is the only reason I'm watching tonight. I'd much rather watch The Office or Community tonight
