2010 NBA Playoffs

Ok, deep breath, away from the ledge. Here's the new gameplan:

Interested to see what kind of adjustments Mike Brown makes for Game 3. After our first loss against Chicago, it finally hit our coach that we need to play small to counter our opposition. We have the depth for God's sake! Let's use it!

Enough already with force-feeding Shaq down low! I realize when he's on, no one can stop him, but he's NOT on too often. We got Shaq for one matchup and one matchup only.... Dwight Howard. But that matchup will never come to be if we don't advance past this game first.

My proposition: let's go small. Blazing fast, freakish athletic small! The Celtics are an aging team and we can run them out of the building if we want to. Less minutes for Shaq, more minutes for JJ Hickson & Jamario Moon. If Mo isn't hitting early, substitute him for Delonte West.. immediately! Keep Anthony Parker on Rajon Rondo from the beginning. If Rasheed is hitting from outside, get Z in there and see if his size can disrupt his shot.

As for the lineup getting the majority of the minutes, I want to see this:

PG: Mo Williams vs. Ray Allen
SG: Delonte West vs. Rajon Rondo
SF: LeBron James vs. Paul Pierce
PF: Antwan Jamison vs. Kevin Garnett
C: JJ Hickson vs. Kendrick Perkins

As for the lineup getting the majority of the minutes, I want to see this:

PG: Mo Williams vs. Ray Allen.....advantage ALLEN.
SG: Delonte West vs. Rajon Rondo.....advantage RONDO
SF: LeBron James vs. Paul Pierce.....advantage JAMES
PF: Antwan Jamison vs. Kevin Garnett.....EVEN
C: JJ Hickson vs. Kendrick Perkins.....EVEN

You can clearly see that the Cavs only have ONE advantage in the above match-ups. BUT, that ONE match-up advantage is the best player in the world. So, IF it is close late..... there is only ONE play, give it to Lebron and get the f*** out of the way! period.

Regardless of how old the Celtics APPEARED, this is not a good match-up for the Cavs. The Celtics have shot very well from the outside and they can be very cold and streaky. But they have shown no signs of this happening.

This is looking a little similar to the year the HEAT won the championship. They had a couple of injuries, nothing major and....get this, they were on cruise control most of the year because they KNEW they had a veteran, aging team. They KNEW they were going to make the playoffs and knew that if they were STILL that good, they will NOT need home court advantage to win a series.

Good teams KNOW they are making the playoffs, KNOW they do not need homecourt to win and KNOW how to pace a veteran team where there is energy in the reserves to make a depp run in the playoffs.

That is not 'heart of a champion'...that is the INTELLIGENCE of a champion.

This seems to be more a description of the San Antonio Spurs than the Celtics...wouldn't it be amazing if they meet in the finals?

However, as with Oklahoma City/LA, I'll believe the Celtics can take four games from the Cavs when I see it. ;)

Because I do not like any of the teams playing, I really don't care. But I really have a sense that IF Lebron is not completely healthy, that team will NOT make it into the Finals.

A friend of mine gave me a good bit of reassuring today on this series. He said the Cavs aren't going to lose another game at home. There's no special reasoning or statistic to prove this. It just isn't going to happen. It's as simple as that. With that said, all the Cavs have to do is win 1 of 3 in Boston, which is very doable.

At the beginning of this series, most experts (myself included ;)) predicted this series go at least 6 games. Well guess what folks, going by the experts, the Cavs weren't going to win every game. Winning in 6 means they would lose 2 along the way. Sure this game is getting extra scrutiny since it was such an unbalanced loss, but guess what? A loss is a loss and yesterday's game only counts as one loss. The series is tied at 1 game a piece.

Game, set, match. See you Friday BEANTOWN!!!!!

Health, more so than matchups or rotations is my #1 fear. I didn't want to say it, because some might jump all over this statement, but it has been very clear that something just aint right with LeBron over these last two games. In a press conference, LeBron said he doesn't like getting shots (of cortezone) because he's afraid of needles. This coming from a guy who's covered with tatoos! Anyways, LBJ needs to buck up and take a needle if it's going to help him.

That's a very interesting statement considering the Cavs have been outplayed 3/4 of the minutes so far and could very easily have been in an 0-2 hole right now...

Man, the Utah is really bad at rebounds, I really felt bad for them.
Without Andrei Kirilenko its going to be hard on them on D and on offense.
The amount of block shots was sad.
Utah needs to draft someone big and tall that can dominate on both sides of the court.

Jussssssssssssssssssssst another Laker victory, how boring LOL

I think this year Magic team is really good.
I think they will be a very good match against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Boston is getting up there (age wise) their big 3s only person that is playing on a high level is Allen, Pierce and Garnett have not been a factor this post season.
I am impressed how good Rondo has gotten..

Danny Ainge is a Pest

Boston's GM was spotted in TV replays throwing a white towel in the air to distract Cleveland forward J.J. Hickson at the free throw line in the third quarter of Game 2 on Monday night.

Ainge, sitting in the first seat to the right of Cleveland's basket, is seen reaching behind the stanchion to grab one of the ball boy's towels as Hickson prepares to shoot. Ainge then tosses the towel into the air on Hickson's second attempt with 1:53 remaining. At the time, the Celtics were leading 80-57.

Doesn't hold a candle to what Rick Carlyle one did.
