Talk about a dumbass. He's already been fired from Iowa. With Butler moving a step closer to pulling off what Sparty did a year ago- a homestate Final Four- you can't help but wonder, WTF was Todd Lickliter thinking when he left Butler for Iowa?
Shoot, it just isn't fair. After a really good season the big schools from big conferences should be able to just show up and pick up their trophies. Darn shame little schools from rinky-dink conferences show up and play basketball.
Xavier's 3-point shooting has been nothing short of phenomenal. (12 treys from downtown)
The other one would be my pick for National ChampKentucky and you can guess the other one.
PSYCHED for tonight. Arinze will ALSO be out for tonight...a little worried....
Don't be. You're playing a team from the Horizon League.
Yes Syracuse had 18 turnovers last night, but that's not the reason they lost. Shocked? I say this because they averaged 15 turnovers throughout the regular season. This is a team who won, in most cases handily, despite turnovers. Last night they got beat by the hottest team in the nation. What's that, 23 in a row now for Butler? Wow!
The real reason they lost was the dreaded zone defense they play. Live by the sword, die by the sword they say. When Butler showed that they could play against the zone, Syracuse didn't make any adjustments. A zone does nothing to pressure the other team or change tempo. Syracuse needed to dictate tempo, especially late in the game, but they didn't change to man coverage. Instead, they stubbornly stuck to the zone and Butler and their young, genius of a coach found out how to break it.
The Kentucky / WVU game is going to be a good one. Get your popcorn ready ( to steal a phrase from TO).
