2010-11 NCAA College Basketball

Ten Big East teams have RPI Index scores of 40 or better, and Marquette is at 62. Should the NCAA let them send ten teams to the Big Dance? Or eleven, if Marquette beats one more higher ranked team?...

...11 is indeed possible. With the remaining schedule that Marquette has left, their only chance at this point to beat another rated team will be when they play UConn & G'town. If they can beat either of those teams and win most of their others, I would think they would be a lock for the tourney....

Marquette leads Georgetown 35-31 at halftime. The Washington Post's braketologist already had them as an eleventh seed going into this game. A win today and no upsets

One of the instant, pseudo-RPI sites has Marquette moving up nine spots due to its respectable loss to Georgetown. I'd say that all Marquette has to do is win its first round tournament game against the approximately fourteenth place Big East regular season team to get into the NCAAs.

BTW, that was a seriously ugly game of mud wrestling - uh - I mean, basketball

More a function of Marquette's really really REALLY bad SOS. A game against any good team bumps them.

as well as Nevada at Hawaii - Local Channels, maybe. :D

Actually, I'm so weird I was getting a little bored with the WVU-Syracuse game, so I checked out quite a bit of Hampton-North Carolina A&T on ESPN U. I like games between small D-1 schools in tight cramped gyms, but I don't usually recommend them here because they're not everybody's cup of tea.

Of course I will be watching. :D

While I am looking foward to the big ten final game MSU VS Michigan, MSU has a big game tonight if they want to keep there tournament hopes alive.

They are not going to win against Ohio State.

There is a barnburner on Fox midwest: University of Northern Iowa takes on Bradley.

Ok, maybe not a barnburner, but Valley games are always good. :)

I do that as well with both basketball and football, as blow-outs are BORING and much prefer to watch close games, even if the competitors are not as "big time" of programs.

...Yet another wild season for the BE...

10 or 11 in the NCAA this season?

Now looking more like 10 than 11. Cincinnati probably punched its ticket by beating Louisville this week. They are still going to be underdogs in four of their five remaining games, and so they really needed that win.

Marquette has a real poor RPI and it won't get much better since four of its final six games are against dregs, so wins over them won't help much. Realistically, Marquette would have to win at least two Big East tournament games to put itself backnin the picture,
