2010-11 NBA PLAYOFFS

Tuesday's Playoff Schedule

New York at Boston- 7:00pm ET (TNT)- Celtics lead series 1-0

Atlanta at Orlando- 7:30pm ET (NBA-TV)-Hawks lead series 1-0

Portland at Dallas- 9:30pm ET (TNT)- Mavericks lead series 1-0

... Carmelo Anthony was Jordanesque out there.

Actually, he was Bernardesque.

The Celtics are the worst rebounding contending team ever. If there was a way to count +/- differential of macho rebounds, they'd have the worst +/- in league playoff history. I couldn't believe it when I saw that they had outrebounded the Knicks by 10 in game 1. All their rebounds were ones that just happened to bounce their way. They didn't "get" any, but they let the Knicks come in and take away a whole bunch in both games.

It's amazing how close this series is to possibly being a split or maybe the Knicks possibly up 2-0.

Absolutely correct. I said this very thing to my daughter when the game ended.

BTW, what was up with the Knicks taking their sweet time fouling Delonte West at the end?

The Knicks and Celtics matched up in the playoffs that same year.

Very valid comparison.
That's the series I'm referring to. The Celtics defeated the Knicks in an epic Eastern Conerence semifinal, where the home team won all seven games. Bernard King went O-F-F in that series

Yeah, you would like to think they discussed that during the timeout. Just a brain cramp by the five on the court, Carmelo Anthony in particular.

And speaking of timeouts...why do NBA coaches feel the need to call timeout before EVERY possession in the last minute of the game? D'Antoni goes through them like water, and then when the Celtics inbound the ball with something like four seconds left, the Knicks have no timeouts left after the foul shots.

And it's not just D'Antoni...they all do it.

Makes you long for the NHL, where the last three minutes of the game sometimes takes...THREE MINUTES!

I might be in the minority on this but, I also hate that you get to inbound the ball over half court if you call a timeout.

I like it. You give up a timeout to get it at half court. I wish they would allow it in the NCAA.

It also gives teams yet another reason to call a time-out. So dumb. Way too many time-outs in the NBA.

Yeah, it really gets ridiculous. Sometimes it gets so bad I switch to hockey, and check score updates with the red button....even if it's a close game. It becomes unwatchable.

That's what I did last night. I was watching the Celtics/Knicks game and with the constant timeouts, I tunned into the Vancouver/Chicago massacre instead.
