2010-11 NBA PLAYOFFS

Yes what I said was tongue and cheek, because someone said it was getting quiet in this thread. ;):D:eek::p

AHHHH....I see... but usually when you mean something tongue and cheek...add some of these:p:p:p ...and a couple of these....;);););) ...and occassional :D:D:D

...That might help separate from some of the things that you have said in the past.;)

OK... how is this...and I am suprised no one has brought it up. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has stated he has gotten very little love/respect/props from the Lakers due to some flap over him not getting a statue. What do you guys think?

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar doesn't feel 'appreciated' by Lakers - ESPN Los Angeles
I think some of that is his fault. Yes he will eventually have a statue .he's won 6 MVP's ,6 NBA championships and I believe 3 NCAA titles.he's a winner no doubt but from what I've read and heard, this guy is kind of an a-hole .the guy is smart but he's one of those who thinks is ok to talk down to others as if he's better than you. That'll drive plenty people away and piss plenty off.and by the way what is up with everyone wanting a statue of themselves ???

The statue thing was the last straw. I think most of it had to do with getting coaching opportunities throughout the years since his retirement. I watched him play and he was surly and kept to himself. I didn't think he was a a$$**** as much as he was not Magic Johnson. And what I mean by that was Magic would show that million dollar smile, talk to anyone and everyone and a all around friendly guy. People wanted Kareem to lean more to Magic's personality than to the introvert he has always been.

Having said all that, he deserves a statue as much as those other guys.

I think IF they offered him as assistant coaching job with the Lakers, he would appreciate that even more.

Didn't the Lakers do that once already salsa? Supposedly he was having issues with getting along with others. Just repeating what I read

what i want to know is what does being a diva have to do with basketball? should any of us really care? honestly i could care less if he's a diva, if he's a bi**h or an a-hole. i just want to see him and every other skilled player in basketball, play. thats it. as long as he's not a criminal or anything similar to that then who the hell cares???? or who should care?
Well said, Rey! :up

I am really starting to get pissed off at one thing the NBA has got to fix... I think the camera men and photographers are way too close to the action. Lebron and Rose almost got killed because of these guys being in the way with all the equipment. They have cameras that can see through walls, there is no need for them to be that close to the court
