2009 NBA Playoffs

The Heat have 83 points through three quarters, after scoring only 63 the whole game in game 1!

Heat 83, Hawks 72................end of 3rd

Heat win 108-92! NOW you see why you could never make a big deal about ONE game. Now, the game 1 ass whippin' the Heat took means NOTHING and the heat steal a game. The could have easily blown out the Hawks, but the refs were absolutely terrible. And they FINALLY let Daquan Cook play...and he was 'only' 7-12 for 20 points!! And the MVP had 33- 7- 7.

If the Heat expect to win the series, they HAD to "steal" a game in Atlanta. Simply because they play 4 of the 7 games in Atlanta.

And what do you mean "MVP"? MVP of your team? I though the league MVP debate was settled a long time ago?

PS, nice fall away 3-pointer off the glass by D-Wade last night. Very nice shot. :up

As long as there is a healthy Wade, they really didn't need to steal a game. Winning the 1st 2 games at home only means you defended homecourt. Atlanta, could not do that and that mean that Miami now has homecourt.

That's $12M higher than any number I have seen.

Paul, I'm not sure where Salsa got his numbers from, but these seem to change daily depending on who you talk to.

I was under the impression that we only have 3 guys signed through 2010. (Mo Williams and the 2 rookies we drafted last year). The Cavs will be right there in being able to do whatever they want that year too.

I think Salsa's list is under the impression that Rip Hamilton will be off the cap after 2010, and I don't belive that to be true, since he just signed an extension at the beginning of this season, that keeps him under contract through at least 2011 or 2012.

Thursday's Playoff Schedule- All Times Eastern

That site assumes that the NBA Salary Cap will remain at the same level over the next two years, most other NBA watchers expect the cap to go down over the next two season...possibly by as much as $4 million. The NBA and Players Union are already in discussions over the CBA for this exact reason, plus if the cap goes down the luxury tax kicks in at lower levels too....and few teams can afford paying it.
