2009 NBA Playoffs

Us Against the World

I already know what to expect from tonight's National Broadcast.

TNT will be showing the Drive, the Fumble, the Shot and Mesa’s blown save again tonight! How original!

TNT will do their best to paint this game as another woeful Cleveland loss. I'm sure there will be graphics on the screen displaying exactly the number of times a team has come back from being down 1-3 in a series.

I can’t help but think that most Clevelanders have already written this team off, as past experience has made a majority of us very pessimistic.

As for me, I'm taking it one game at a time, just like I hope my Cavs are. After all, we have the greatest player on the planet. With LeBron James on the team, every game is a chance to see something special. Each game that he plays in could be the next career highlight moment. I had the privilege of seeing one of those last Friday night. Could tonight be another?

Why give in with the rest of the crowd? Why expect the worst? We have the best player in the world! Go Cavs!

Damn straight! :up

And as far as the rest of that media driven crap goes, don't let it get to ya.

As a Red Sox fan, I had to relive over and over and over, Babe Ruth, Bill Buckner, Bucky Dent, etc., etc. every October unti 2004. Fox was the worst with their theatrical music, fog and voice-overs.

Bill, your Celtics came out of a similar hole in 1981.

What is the mentality of a fan as their team tries to climb out of such a hole?

I know it's cliche', but it's SO true: One game at a time...........EVEN for a fan.

It's funny that you bring up that '81 series vs. the Sixers, because that was one of my most exciting moments as a sports fan. The early 80's Sixers-Celtics games, whether regular season or postseason, were must see! :up

I wonder if they'll bring it up on TNT since one of the noteworthy 3-1 rallies was in 95 when Houston came back against Phoenix. I bet Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley have very different memories of that series. :D

There is no way TNT is hoping the series ends tonight, or even in game six. For the next two games they will be the biggest Cleveland fans in the world.

Sandra

Bill said that ABC executives would be jumping off skyscrapers IF Orlando were to face Denver.

Obviously, Lakers/Cavs is the best case scenario, but what about the other two possible scenarios: Denver/Cleveland (probably the least likely scenario, since both teams are down to their last game) and Lakers/Orlando?

I'm sure getting at least one of them would be good enough to satisfy the networks... right?

I know they're not hoping it will end tonight, but because this is an elimination game for the Cavs, they will be talking ad nauseous about our cities sports past.

Matt, please don't let these media idiots get to you. I have faith that the Cavs will get it done tonight, and more importantly, I certainly know that YOU do.

If there's one thing I've learned on my time in this forum: Cleveland fans deserve a championship, and Cleveland will GET a championship!

It may not be this year (although I STILL think it WILL be.......I'm sorta stubborn like that ;))

Yourself and Sky have proven your loyalty, passion and never say die attitude towards ALL your teams, and you do it with dignity and pride. If you guys represent what Cleveland fans are all about then kudos to Cleveland.

Just remember, no matter what happens tonight, you come here and hold your head high (and I KNOW you will), because you have NOTHING to be ashamed of. :)

I'm PUMPED for tonight....................

GO CAVS!!!!

As a Buffalo sports fan- I can understand this.

I know sports heartbreak as well.

Over/under on clips of Elway's drive, Byner's fumble, the Marlins winning the WS?

You're dead on about that. I'm so sick of seeing that crap everytime a Cleveland team makes a run in the postseason....

Count me as NOT writing this team off. I've seen them all year and I know they're not going down easy. I fully expect a win tonight!! Go Cavs!
