I like defense...AT CERTAIN TIMES...a great block here, a steal there...a great boxout rebound over there...But bring a game to litterally a standstill is NOT exciting basketball...it's a way to help sleeping disorders!
Well they're doing something right. Everyone said the Big 10 couldn't hold a candle to the ACC this year, yet both conferences have TWO teams a piece left in the Tourney.
Anyway you look at it, a wins a win. Ugly or pretty, win and move on. Who cares how you get there. Just a different style of ball, that's all.
Yes, if you were talking about winning or losing. But this statement sounds like it has more to do with entertaining than with wins and loses:
Entertaining?! This aint the Harlem Globetrotters! This is organized basketball where only winning and losing matters!
But basketball IS entertainment....IF you ain't getting paid for it...that is ALL it is....entertainment....plain and simple. IF you think of basketball, or any other sport for that matter, as "only winning and losing matters"....you seriously need to get out more....

You're bashing Big-10 basketball and calling it boring. My argument is that as long as they are winning, it isn't boring to those fans.
Besides, if you want charades and distractions, look at the cheerleaders, listen to the band and giggle at the silly mascots. For the rest of us, give us good fundamental ball. If that style of ball includes solid defensive play and results in more wins, so be it!
LMAO!! Scoring is now being label "charades and distractions"? For those that do not follow the Big Ten, which is more likely MORE 75% of the country...they want to be entertained...BECAUSE...their team does not PLAY in the Big Ten THEREFORE....to the average NON Big Ten fan...they want ENTERTAINMENT..and slowing games to the point that snails are going twice the speed of light is NOT entertaining.

That was one of Pitts problems the last few years, great D but no offense.
This year their D isn't as good, which I wish they would improve, but their offense is a hell of a lot better.

Then they give it to the slowest, most unathletic white dude and have him try to beat his defender with the shot clock running down. No surprise it results in a brick. They don't even really challenge the defense with the way they play. It's just really bad basketball.

Look, I have not seen enough Big Ten games to say ALL their games are boring...but what from what I have seen in the tournament this year is enough to stab my neck with a dull butter knife!!
