2009 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament

if they do play, want to make a friendly wager? my icon will be dean smith for 30 days (ugggh) and yours will be the greatest coach on tobacco road, Mike Krzyzewski . . . let me know what you think
I could never agree to THAT! The most you'll get out of me would be a congratulations. :D

We almost had Carolina Duke in 2005- hell, we almost could have had that Carolina/Kentucky in the 2005 Final Four- too bad Michigan State ruined that and proved to be undeserving to be on the same court as that Carolina team.

Duke or Kentucky would have put up a fight like Illinois did in the title game- Spartans didn't even show up.

2005 must have been doubly sweet for Anders, since those Heels beat three Big 10 teams in a row, and we all know how he hates the Big 10

How has everyone done?

Midwest - 3 out of 4
West - 4 out of 4
East - 3 out of 4
South 2 out of 4

I got only Lousiville right in the Midwest (I had BC, Kansas, and Wake Forest as well)
Got 3 of 4 right out West (Washington let me down)
Got 3 of 4 in the South (Western Kentucky came thisclose)
Got 2 right in the East (Florida State gagged, and I had Villanova going out early)

Marquette-Missouri was great. Another heartbreaking loss for Marquette.

Ironic that Mizzou survived a thriller in Boise, the same place where Tyus Edney broke their hearts in the 1995 West Region.

(Even more irony- that Missouri team that almost pulled the upset was a #8 seed facing a #1 seed, and the year before, Missouri was a top-seed in the West!)

You are aware that Kansas is playing MSU in this region? That means you had 2 of the 4 correct.

Not surprised. They get the bracket with UNC, Oklahoma, and Syracuse. That should be the late slot.

Right you are. :up

****************************************************

Sunday

Midwest Region- 2:20 ET

Arizona defeats Cleveland State.

Sorry HD and Skyhi, but the Vikings have nothing to be ashamed of.

THEY were THE story of the first round! :up

Meanwhile, the Wildcats advance to play the Louisville/Siena winner.

:(

In the first half, none of our outside shots were falling. And for the life of us, we just couldn't figure out that stimey Arizona zone until it was too late.

I find it AMAZING that UNC/Duke have never met in the NCAA's ,considering the unbelievable success of both programs...............................same conference or not.

This is one of the reasons for me selecting my Final Four parings...

Duke vs. UNC

Memphis vs. Louisville

Two Rivalry matchups to decide who goes onto the Championship. Now that would be great TV!

Give it up Kreager. Your bracket is toast. :D

Don't forget 2 Big-10 teams left!

Speaking of Big Ten....MY GOD, is it me, or have they been THE most boring games to watch??!! I have not gotten into this "Big Ten is boring basketball" discussion because they DO have some amazing PLAYERS in the Big Ten...but man oh man, those games involving the Big Ten teams yesterday was putting me to sleep....!!! That was some of THE most bland basketball I have EVER seen!!

For those of you that didn't know, Xavier's head coach, Sean Miller, was one of Pitt's best players.

Here he is dishing the ball to Lane to break the glass.

I just felt it was a good story for Thursday's game.
