2009 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament

Pitt was lucky today. They played terrible. ETSU was the worst free throw shooting team I've seen in a long time. 12-24 for the game. They could have pulled it off possibly if they could have hit their FT's.

DeJuan Blair continues to show that he's a stud. 26 points 16 rebounds. The rest of the team looked like they'd been out ill 4 in the morning.

Thus the team's weakness. You can't depend on 1 guy throughout the entire tournament. If Blair gets into foul trouble or he has an off day, Pitt will lose. This team is very beatable.

Not just that, but they had trouble from three-point land- 4-21!

You don't have to convince me. They are on Carolina's side of the bracket.

Another recent trend that is still alive is Ivy League inepitude in the tournament, though this streak was not in danger like #1 vs. #16.

To the surprise of nobody, Cornell lost to Mizzou by 19.

Granted, it was not as bad as the bloodbath against Stanford a year ago (lost by 23), but still.

When WAS the last time an Ivy League school won a tournament game?

I went 6-2 today. I lost Utah St. and West Virginia. 15 out of my sweet 16 still intact. The only team out is Miss. St.

Probably when Princeton shocked defending champion UCLA in 1996.

Sorry I didn't post for a while, but the Pittsburgh/ETSU was scaring me to death.

Now, I just hope Louisville is careful, or Ramy could have eternal bragging rights.

That would be great, but would kill me since I have Louisville winning it all.
