# 2 WV Loses TO Pittsburgh 13-9

On another note, am I reading this right: Would a LSU fan be ok with a split title ;)
Don't think there will be one. AP & Coaches have the same #1 & #2. If the Harris poll and computers agree (likely Harris will follow the AP & Coaches, and Harris had LSU at #5 last week, higher than the other 2 polls), then the consensus #1 & #2 will be playing.

Now that the polls are out, then yes. Only chance at a split is to see a #2 ap team not make the title game and have #1 go down.

Crazier things have happened though......

Tell me again, how you can be 7th in the BCS and play one week and become number 2 ???

Because LSU crushed Virginia Tech earlier in the year....because as hot as Georgia is, they came in SECOND PLACE in their division and did not even play for their own conference championship...And because Missouri lost their championship game sort of going away to Oklahoma... and West Virginia, though constantly getting calls ALL NIGHT, still lost AT HOME to a team that was 4-7....to me, it was not THAT difficult a choice.

Why did Oklahoma get left out ?
They have been playing very good ball and beat the previous # 1 twice ...

But they got their a$$ kicked by a team that was NOT ranked in Texas Tech AND lost to a, at the time, SUB-.500 team. A bad loss to bad or sub-par teams are MUCH MORE effective than good wins against good teams.

With that being all true, then why weren't they ranked higher before this past weeks games?

Because the polls are full of sh*t, have been all year, starting with ranking my Wolverines #5 in week one. There is no way to compare teams except in head to head play. Maybe some year we will get the playoff system most of us want. Like I said before, there is no way anybody can see all the teams play, all the time, and even if you did, that still wouldn't give you enough information to make qualified rankings. The only solution is a playoff system. For the record, I think the BCS championship game has the right pairing, but then what the hell do I know?
