100% local coverage

The 2 owners of the 3 Salisbury locals are playing hardball with Dish so those customers only get Hagerstown NBC and PBS

oh and i filed a complaint with the ftc over false advertising :)

Not sure if that will do anything since Dish is saying that they offer locals to 100% of the country (which they do). It is our greedy local networks that are not taking them up on that offer. I think the only way we will see them is by contacting the local stations and letting them know how we feel, perhaps they will realize that being the only market holding out is not a good thing

Its not Dish that is at fault. Your local network are playing hardball and considering they want to be on satellite it seems kinda goofy they're doing this

Have you checked Dish's website? I just did with my Millsboro, Delaware address and found they are listing this channel:

1) WASHINGTON DC NBC-WHAG on Channel 25 (6742) for $5.99 a month.

In all my years living here with Mediacom, Verizon Fios, and Comcast.... I've never heard of this channel!

Mediacom and Verizon Fios has NBC out of Baltimore while Comcast has it out of Philly. So, Dish has it out of DC? Interesting to say the least lol

This issue along with the whole Salisbury market not being on dish is also being discussed at this thread: http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-forum/215700-new-locals.html
Maybe they need to be merged?

Question still remains, Is all the DMA's covered?

Is anyone Missing their Big 4 Locals in SD?
Without buying them from All American Direct.;)

YES, Salisbury is missing all their locals and there are some DMA's missing 1 or 2 of the big four. But this is only due to the local stations holding out, not because Dish isnt offering them

agree

I agree here. I'm just hoping that E* can use Stela to start importing nets into aras that can't get their locals. Then I could get those that are holdout to realize that hardball no longer is working. That could force them to go to the pricing that everyone one else gets. Really why should they get any more than anyone else for retrans ?

In the areas they do cover, what is the average number of stations carried?

Here in LA, Direct carries many more SD locals than Dish and in HD Direct carries 11, while Dish only carries 7

Here in Minneapolis both carry the same amount in SD 11 (well 10 + the National Ion feed remapped)

HD D* kicks E*'s butt
D* 7 (PBS, CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, CW, MY)
E* 4 (Big 4)

is that what is holding everything up? I thought it was because in some of those areas the whole DMA it isnt Sig Viewed

Good question Iceberg........ I'm curious to know what the real answer is......

Is it a legal reason awaiting some further court action........ or as you stated the Sig Viewed issue?

Is there anyway to know for sure whether DISH is even pursuing providing the missing channels for those of us in the short markets?

I called DISH and when I asked a CSR about this...... they were clueless.........not surprised.........just disapointed that when I tried to ask DISH about it they didn't know the answer........?

The Can Seriously be Retarded will not know anything about this until it is already a gone deal. If they knew anything they sure won't tell you.
