How about replying to my post, thanks. It's not your opinion, it's a fair statistical comparison. No matter how you slice it, Tebow is a better QB than Jamarcus Russell, or are you content with the justification provided, even though if Tebow played the exact same poor football the rest of the season he would have more yards from the line of scrimmage and touchdowns. You must be OK with this since you tried to forecast that yourself and say it would take him 3 seasons to get that many yards? Or is this suddenly a passing competition and not a 'who's the better QB' ?

Your under the assumption he will do this. That is YOUR opinion. Not mine. That simple ....no spin.

I think the Tebow talk isnt because of his religion or anything. I think I see a little of Favre in this Tebow coverage. I think the problem is that Tebow is being hyped and hyped and hyped and he hasnt done anything yet. Not saying that Tebow will be great. Who knows? He could be the next Joe Montana or he could be the next Ryan Leaf. I just think there is way too much hype for Tebow. Lets see him play a few games and give an assessment. I think some of the media have him in the Hall of Fame before he can even prove himself yet.

If anything, what about some of the hype going to Cam Newton? The guy has been great considering hes playing for the Panthers.

I think it's the complete opposite. The media hasn't put him in the hall of fame, he has been crucified. (Nice wordplay, eh?) ;)

I do agree about the hype though. Too much hype, but mostly negative....

His "fans", the Teboners are the one that have him on a bust in Canton already.

Quoting YOU:

At the rate Tebow completes passes, it may take 3 seasons to get that many yards

That looks like an assumption by you... not me. At the rate he is completing passes, he'll have more yards through the air and ground and more touchdowns (all through the air) than JaMarcus's first year ...and that's by only playing 10 games. No opinion there.

I have yet to post my opinion on the topic... I've only rebutted your 'he's better than JR, stats dont lie' with the stats themselves...

What makes JM the better QB? It's OK to say you'd take him over Tebow, then we can just consider the source and move on. Instead you say the stats don't lie... which they don't, but you've yet to back anything up.

In 2008, his 1st year as the starter, Jamarcus Russell started 15 games: 13 TDs, 8 INTs, completed 54% of his passes for a 77% passer rating for 2423 yards passing. At the rate Tebow completes passes, it may take 3 seasons to get that many yards. And only GOD knows when he will ever complete more than 50% of his passes in a game, much less a season.

Not defending Fat-A$$, just defending my statement.

'nuff said.

Moving along....

With a the Chiefs winning the 4th in a row, they have created quite the interesting 3 way tie for 1st place in the AFC West. San Diego has the SB champs in town, Denver visits the Raiders and Miami visits KC. It's gonna be fun.

That makes no sense at all salsa. Your comparing an entire year to only 2 games. When you compare the first two games of both players, Tebow outshines him by a lot. So how can you say "At Tebows rate itll take him 3 years to get those yards" when in the first 2 games compared side by side Tebow had way more yards, more then double, (counting rushing and passing) Then russel? I mean Ive seen some arguments that make no sense but that one about takes the cake.

My assumption is no different than yours. Your assumption assumes he will and stats he won't.

"we can consider the source"... Nice jab. LMAO!

What is my assumption? I am projecting his stats over the course of a season, just as you said that over THREE seasons (did you even do the math?). That's not an assumption, it's a comparison, since you insist on using season stats.

You are a Raiders fan, if you picked a Raiders QB over a Broncos QB in a discussion... yes... we could 'consider the source', that's not a jab.

Always the victim with you, wow.

But its not an opinion.. I look at the sky and say its Blue, thats not an opinion thats a fact. Now if your opinion is Russel is a better QB hey thats an opinion. But you stated facts, that Russels stats were better. and the facts of course are that Tebows were better by a long shot.

So to be clear, your opinion is that JaMarcus Russell is a better Quarterback than Tim Tebow because in 15 games he put up more yards than Tim Tebow did in 2? That's what you're 'standing by'.

When did this go from 'stats dont lie' to 'my opinion' anyways?

LOL!!! Good point.

lol, I've almost posted the exact same analogy. Salsa would post and say the sky is only black, and say we can only look at the sky between 10pm and 11pm local time. Then when it's pointed out that the atmosphere is actually colorless at night and that's the void of space that is black, he'd say 'standing by my opinion'.

Stats dont lie that as a starter, as a whole, in his 1st year...he was a better QB. My mistake was that I ment that as an overall for the season. Unfortunately, it has morphed into something I did not intend.

My mistaken and I will man up to it.

But he has played more games. What is his average per game?

Good post. Tebow will only start 10 games at best this season and I think he could outperform JaMarcus's first 15, unlike Oakland though I think Denver will explore other options if his play doesn't improve.

Comparing drafting Tim Tebow to the potential of the Indianapolis Colts drafting Andrew Luck, when Tebow was drafted in the first round of the draft(even though he was a late first round pick),I remember the critics & talking heads criticizing the pick & saying that the Broncos had to start Tim Tebow because they drafted him so highly. They couldn't just have him sit on the bench & learn because he was such a high draft pick. Now if the Colts have the overall first pick,& Andrew Luck comes out of college to enter the draft,AND the Colts draft him, you'll hear the critics & talking heads do a complete 180 & talk about how brilliant the draft pick was,how Luck will sit & learn from Peyton Manning,& they'll compare it to Aaron Rodgers & Brett Favre. You won't hear a single critic(Merrill Hoge,Trent Dilfer, etc.) say that because he was drafted so highly,he has to start immediately(unless he is drafted by the Dolphins & then that goes without saying).

Also...at no point until his 3rd year, his 2nd year as a starter..did you hear that he could not make a throw or that his QB play 'sets back the QB position' x amount of years. After his 1st year as the starter...he had some decent stats that lended to some hope.
