Would Tebow be mocked if he were winning/putting up good numbers a la Dalton, Ponder, or Newton?? I don't think so...

Yes. (Can you imagine the press he would be getting if he were winning? HOLY CRAP! it would be even worse.)

The guy has started 2 games this year and won one, lost one. It's not like he's been losing every game.......

It's the attention Tebow gets. And those guys know if they mock Tebow, they will also get attention. It's jealousy and annoyance.

Isn't that the Cassandra Complex or something like that?

See the thing is, we all know Tebow has talent, we've all seen it.

BUT, where the hell is it? Will he just one day "click" and it just "happens" (divine intervention?), or will it always just be lost potential???

Man, you guys are rough, he's started what about 5 games in his career ?

Not quite religious persecution, which some here and elsewhere are claiming...

Not me, I'd categorize them as the same thing. I'd quote and question those who claim otherwise if you wanted to go down that rabbit hole. People mock all the moves out there, lights out, Jared Allen's calf tie up before it was banned, Rison on the goal post, icky shuffle, dirty bird. All the same.

Yes, 3 games last year (1-2), and 2 this year (1-1).

I think he just needs a "translator" to get that college talent "translated" into the NFL. Then he'll be fine. :)

I just want the Broncos to win. I don't care who the QB is, as long as he is winning.

To both of you-

So, why do you think Tebow is being mocked? What has he done to bring that upon himself? As I said, he has no arrogant "move" to mock.

He is not responsible for the HYPE machine that has surrounded him. (Unless there is some big Focus on the Family conspiracy we don't know about ;))

I am throwing out two potential avatar bet challenges for this Sunday:Either a bet with Sandra for the Bills/Jets game or The Insider for Broncos/RaidersIf you lose, you have to put up a Bills avatar until Thanksgiving.

And if you lose, you will have to put up a Broncos avatar until Thanksgiving, right? Or maybe a cool Tebow avatar? I know some good ones.

Insider did accept your challenge......

This sucks!

I want both KC and SD to lose, but someone has to win. I ain't rooting for either one, but I picked SD to win, so.......................

Wow, if the Chargers lose this, after that Rivers F-up.........

He hasn't played like the Rivers of old at all this year. (But he's still his same old d-bag self though)

EDIT - Rivers = goat

Here come the awesome NFL OT rules

SD takes this either way I think

No doubt. They need to go to college rules. I heard Lou Holtz suggest college start at the 45, so they at least had to get one first down to attempt a FG with a decent chance. So they wouldn't have an almost automatic FG. I like it, and the NFL should do it also.

I wouldn't mind a tie, though. :)

You got it.....

My guess is they're calling for Norv's head again in SD. Deservedly so. Kick the FG!!

Bad couple games, but still their best start under Norv ever. I think Rivers will take more of the heat for thus one second week in a row.

Otherwise, sooner they transition from Norv the better.

Will be a big test of their veterans and coaches to turn around and put up a fight against the Packers on Sunday after a short week, and then host the Raiders the Thursday following.

The stat defends my comment. Nothing more and nothing less.

Which 'stat' exactly, because Tebow's first 2 starts this year are greater than Russell's first 2 starts of 2008.

Compare the stats of his 1st year as a starter...and it tells you all you need to know.

OK, so that's 2008, throwing out 2007, which Tebow outperformed by comparison as well, so the 'compare to his starting year' is not surprising caveat, so you exclude that data. But wait, when you actually LOOK at the "1st year as a starter" and Tebow's first 2 games as a starter this year...

Russell
9/8/08 vs Denver + 9/14/08 vs KC:
23/49, 235 yards (46% completion), 2 TDs, 4 carries 10 yards, 1 fumble lost

Tebow
10/23/11 @ Miami, 10/30/11 vs Detroit:
31/66 333 yards (46% completion), 3 TD / 1 INT 19 carries 122 yards, 1 fumble lost

Both were also 1-1 after the above games. Both of the losses were blowouts. The only stat Russell leads is in turnovers. By 1.

Laugh all you want. Stats don't lie....

I agree with yaz, it's hilarious that you're so vehemently defending (3 replies and counting...) JaMarcus now. You could have tried to make the argument above but looking at the stats I can see why you didn't.

Once more for posterity:

...and with that I'll take a knee for a moment.

In 2008, his 1st year as the starter, Jamarcus Russell started 15 games: 13 TDs, 8 INTs, completed 54% of his passes for a 77% passer rating for 2423 yards passing. At the rate Tebow completes passes, it may take 3 seasons to get that many yards. And only GOD knows when he will ever complete more than 50% of his passes in a game, much less a season.

Not defending Fat-A$$, just defending my statement.

'nuff said.

Moving along....

With a the Chiefs winning the 4th in a row, they have created quite the interesting 3 way tie for 1st place in the AFC West. San Diego has the SB champs in town, Denver visits the Raiders and Miami visits KC. It's gonna be fun.
