We finally agree on something.
Now here is a "Rumor". Is it true ? I don't know. This came from a man who worked for a Sports Station in Orlando. A few years back Dale Jr. had a bad handling car and trashed the whole crew on national television after the race. He said his car was Garbage and said they needed to work harder at the shop, things like that. If the Rumor is true he came back to the shop the following day and the crew at DEI really let him have it. They told him to show up once and a while. He needed to show up to the Garage once and a while and to show up before noon.
You hear things. On a local sports radio program they talked about Dale JR. being a real jerk . They didn't elaborate beyond that but you got the impression they met him and one of the announcers "was" a fan before they met him.
For me , I liked to watch Dale Jr race back in 2001 and 2002. I really thought he had some talent. I question that now. And the thing that really bugged me his how much attention he got even when he was last during a race.
Now , I have to deal with the Wrath of Dale Jr. Nation
I believe he wants to win but if you read the book Jr. put out a few years back you read in one chapter about how Dale Sr. had to keep on him all the time . Jr comes across as a guy that wants it all but doesn't want to work for it.
That might be it I guess. He just doesn't have anyone pushing him now.
One of the reasons Dale Sr. was so popular with the NASCAR fans was because SR. never forgot where he came from. If you watch the excellent documentary on him , Dale (Narrated by Paul Newman) you see a man who got up early, did most of the work around the house himself and was unspoiled. I can understand fans wanting to keep him alive by supporting Jr. but it was tough to see him and Dale Sr's widow have the arguments. I sided with Teresa Earnhardt because she helped run DEI when Dale was alive. And Dale SR. would have never put up with JR's crap.
The Problem now is that 17 out of 18 wins have come with Tony Eury Jr. Steve Hmiel was his crew chief with one win. So if he goes winless for the next two years I hope Dale Jr. fans finally admit that Jr. is not a great driver, just an average driver.

I LOVE IT . Kyle speaks out about what other drivers are thinking.
They will throw everything they can at Dale Jr. to help him win. And will it work? I doubt it. But it sure makes it fun to see Kyle go after Dale Jr. like this. Now lets hope that NASCAR doesn't fine him .

However, maybe a different voice in the headset will understand Jr. and what he needs changed will help.
The Hendricks team will finally start working together instead of Jeff and Jimmy working together and Jr pretty much on his own.
Up till now it's pretty much been the same as when he was at DEI, no different.
Now I expect communication, of course without being in the meeting ya never know if it does help any.

Just because Jr. has a different Crew Chief, don't expect him to suddenly start winning every race...
People seem to think winning is easy .
If he starts clicking off top 10's and top 5's, that's good enough, with a few wins in there as well...

I agree with this ... I believe it did happen, remember, he was very young back then ... Also he does have to do more around the shop ... he has a bunch of other stuff going on (his bar for one) that he should get rid of and concentrate on racing.

Hey , He ticked off Jr fans. So Kyle did the right thing here. It's what NASCAR needs.
Why is it that the 24, 48, and 5 seem to be running good and the 88 is the odd ball in the group? Maybe jrs' driving ability should be looked at more closely? The 14 and 39 also seem to be running pretty good with hendrick engines and chassis!!
Maybe the teams should share the information with everyone ... I get a feeling that it hasn't been happening at all with the 88 ... The 24 and 48 share the info regularly, but not with the rest of the teams.
They have team debriefs at the track and at the shop. All notes are accessible to all teams at that time.
I'm talking about the drivers working together, not what is on paper somewhere.
I did hear that Jr's set up were going to be closer to what Jimmy and Jeff use, I don't know why they didn't do that in the very beginning other than the lack of co-operation.

If you were paying attention during the past week you might have learned that the 88 was running essentially the same set up as the 24 and 48 only minor differences.
Did the driver of the 88 just not know what he was doing on the track and that's why his car handled the way it did?
