Yes Network on Dish Network?!

Good article here talking about programs that will be coming to the YES Network in the near future.

Will YES ever be on Dish Network? Well YES chief operating officer Ray Hopkins "hopes to eventually reach an agreement with the DBS provider." Well I know he is not saying thats its guaranteed to happen but at least it seems like the two sides are still negotiating on a deal. Maybe a deal can be reached just in time for the beginning of 2005 MLB baseball season...you never know!

On a tour of Florida, the Pope took a couple of days off to visit the coast for some sightseeing. He was cruising along the beach when there was a frantic commotion just off shore.

A helpless man, wearing a New York Yankee jersey, was struggling frantically to free himself from the jaws of a 25-foot shark.

As the Pope watched, horrified, a speedboat came racing up with three men wearing Boston Red Sox jerseys aboard.

As the Pope drove off, the harpooner asked his buddies "Who was that?"

The Pope," one replied. "He is in direct contact with God and has access to all of God's wisdom."

"Well," the harpooner said, "He may have access to God's wisdom but he doesn't know squat about shark fishing. How's the bait holding up?"

Yes they did win 26, but 26-0 sounded MUCH more impressive than 26-1 does.

Or does every sing Direct subscriber get all the Yankees games for example?

Stanlee it doesnt ever have to happen again in my lifetime. The defeat of the Skankees by the Bosox was so incredable coming back down by 3 and the look on Jeter and Rodriquezes faces when they were defeated was priceless. Life just doesnt get any better than that, ever.

I hear ya,enjoy. In a few weeks the Yanks will sweep whats left of them and start it all over again. I love it!!!!!! Trdo,I think if your Sat. carries Yes than you will never be blacked out from watching the Yankees. But don't believe that Dish is going to bring it. They are more worried about the International crowd than the customers that got them where they are today.

No, of course not. YES is a "REGIONAL SPORTS NETWORK" this means they only own the rights to broadcast the Yankees games to all MSO subscribers in their DMA.

So if you don't live in an area that is within the Yankees DMA then even if you subscribed to the YES network ala carte ALL YANKEEs games would be blacked out to you. The only package that can get you out of market sports from around the country is to subscribe to the League OOM package like (MLB Extra Innings).

They are more worried about the International crowd than the customers that got them where they are today.

Sometimes I feel the same way...But I think this time they are going to come thru for us and get this network or any other network that is being demanded by their US customers...or maybe they will continue to disappoint us?

Must be getting close to spring, the annual YES thread has returned.

In all honesty the vast majority of E* customers could care less about YES, me included. If YES and its greedy owner would submit to being carried ala-cart you would already have it. If anyone wants this channel they should switch to D* or cable. It's pretty obvious that it will never be carried by Dish.

Yes, Extra Innings games can be blacked out, but only for IN Market Subs, meaning if the game is airing on the local RSN or local affliate that has local sports rights then YES the game will be blacked out on the Extra Innings channel.

This is really bad for Dish Network Yankees fans as Dish doesn't have "YES" so all Yankee's games are blacked out on the Extra Innings for Dish subs in the Yankees DMA. Since "YES" is not on Dish then all IN Market Dish subs will NOT get any Yankees games, unless they are national games like on ESPN.

I could careless as I don't like Baseball, even if I did I'd only watch a Yankees game to route for the other team. Now Hockey is a different story, today was a very black day for me.

Maybe we can get YES Network on Dish if the Yankees agree to paint a big Dish Network logo on the field.

E* last offer to them was.....Carry the channel ala-cart, pay for all the up-link costs, give YES 100% of the revenue generated by the channel. I'm sorry but that is more than a fair offer. Steinbrenner is a greedy ass*ole. Kudos to Charlie for for standing up to him and not giving in to this blackmail..
