XBOX One Owners Thread

It basically makes you the sorcerers apprentice. A ton more fun than I would have ever expected. Went from wondering what the game even is to wanting to pick it up day one budget-allowing.

Looks like we're also getting 2 Assassins Creed Unity Bundles (with/without Kinect.) You get Unity and Assassins Creed 4 for free.

This doesn't surprise me after hearing the news that Unity's graphics got locked in at 900p. But this was the bundle I was hoping to see this BF for the PS4. Of course there's no chance of that now. I've just got too much invested in the PS ecosystem (including a DS4 controller, a Vita for remote play, and over a dozen free PS4 games from Plus) to switch systems at this stage, though in many ways the Xbox One seems to be emerging as the better value system this gen with the attractive bundles it's been offering over the past few months and features added through firmware updates, some that the PS4 still lacks.

PS4 has the 2.0 firmware coming this fall. If history is indication though that will probably be one of the few major revisions we get this entire console life cycle from Sony - while MS continues to iterate and add features.

The Playstation Vita TV mini-console that shipped this week in the US didn't even launch with a Netflix or YouTube app (though it included other media streaming apps like Crackle and Crunchyroll and those apps are available on the Vita handheld). I just don't understand what Sony's problem is these days, unless it's just complacency.

Netflix said an app isn't coming to Vita TV.

Many are chalking it up to it bring a new product, thinking streaming will get better, more apps will be added... forgetting it is a year old product using a years-old Vita ecosystem.

Master Chief Collection has gone gold.

Oh this is fun...

The result is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take up almost all of the usable space of a single Blu-ray (45 GB), and we will also issue a content update at launch that is estimated to be 20 GB. You’ll be able to start playing Campaign and more as the content is installing, with some features and multiplayer content being added via the update. Yes, the update is large, but we weren’t about to cut corners to save disc space.

¡Aye Dios Mio! A 20 GB Day 1 Patch?? So that also means that if you get the game digitally, sit back and enjoy a 65 GIGABYTE download! Good thing my ISP bumped me up to a 50mb connection.

I was planning to preorder it digitally to take advantage of preloading. That way the game is already installed and I just have to wait for it to unlock at release time. It looks like even if I do that I will have to download 20GB on day one. At least you can play the campaign while this is happening.

I'm looking forward to this one. For whatever reason I have been interested in this game since they first showed it off. My current plan is to try to plow through it in about a week and a half so I can have it back in time for Dragon Age. I haven't heard anything about length yet so I'm not sure if that's actually feasible or not. After that, I'm assuming I'll be locked into Dragon Age for quite a while.

I didn't really give SO much of a look since I wasn't intending on getting the One, but after seeing a bit of footage I'll keep an eye on it. Looks like a fun open world game, but we'll see what happens.

If I had an Xbox One, Sunset Overdrive would be a day one buy for me. I love Insomniac and their long-running Ratchet & Clank series (I have almost every installment released for PS3), and this looks like everything a next-gen over-the-top (in terms of tonuge-in-cheek humor and gameplay) third person shooter can and should be.

Good news. I hope I get the email from Gamefly today saying my copy is on the way.

Edit: just got confirmation. Sunset Overdrive is on the way.

I'll be getting Bayonetta 2. Hopefully I'll plow through it (and the new CoD) fast enough to get the new WWE game and SSBU in time.

On a related topic, here's some of the remastered cinematics for Halo 2 on MCC.
