As Nokia cannot dismiss half of the market, I'm not surprised that they're using bits of Android. Even if it is brained, they don't have to start over from scratch as it seems to port things to Windows.

I have a Java-based phone and I see thousands of titles that have been ported. There's obviously a market for basic software among those who don't want to pay hundreds for a phone and monthly service just to do basic stuff.
