Wouldn't it be nice if...

KU LNBF's supported both circular and linear polarizations and FTA satellite receivers had a DBS card slot so that you could subscribe to either Dish Network and / or DirecTV and were able to tune in all the FTA channels as well using the same receiver?

Dish Network was going to have a company manufacture a computer tuner that would work with their system but it didnt work out.

Good Idea! But if one component of the receiver goes bad.... No TV. I would prefer to keep these systems separate.

I felt this way when the videocipher got integrated into the IRD receiver years ago. However after awhile, I loved not having all the additional wires.
