So, my co-owner and Manager of our sister station was asked today by a client if we "weren't using any" of our large C-band dishes in the front yard of WGLM. He then proceeded to ask if we'd part with one of the larger ones. (The other) Jim said to the inquiry, "well, my co-owner enjoys satellite technology and won't want to sell anything he can use, what would you do with one?" The answer? Use as a cover for a Grain Silo.
Uh, NO. But the intended use was amusing. We've agreed to include this in an e-book if the two of us ever write about the (Geek) American Dream of owning a string of small radio stations and what happens "behind the scenes." One problem is we don't think anyone would either a) Believe it. or b) read it.
Guess my 12 foot fiberglass stationary dish is safe for now. But..I'll be watching!
