I'm just getting started (cloned a virtual). Prior to getting Coherence mode my thoughts were simple: Blecchh.
Biggest issue is the dichotomy of the desktop and the "start" menu. I'm used to the start button not being so intrusive. I don't really know where anything is and it takes me too long to figure it out.
IMO, they went too far.
Thank god for Coherence, because that makes it tolerable on the Mac as a Virtual.

What do you mean by cant find anything? I hit start and start typing. Just like a Mac.

Hit the windows button and you get a subset of apps represented by tiles. How do you get the rest of your apps. You click somewhere in the vicinity of start, then select "All Apps" -- Not something that's intuitive to me.
Probably great on a tablet, I'm not particularly fond of it as a desktop yet.

You just start typing. If its something you use regularly you right click and pin to start or taskbar.

Searching is easy if you know what you are searching for... I was over at my Dad's house looking for a program. He knew he had a program that did something but could not remember the name, it was probably a year or two since he last used it. Nothing like being able to see a full list of what is installed.
Windows 8 continues to outpace Windows 7, as MS has crossed the 40 million licenses mark, including sales to OEMs.

My Iconia tablet out for delivery, omg omg omg. /fidget.
Dropped the iPad off at the buyer yesterday (ended up being a Pawn Shop) and last night I felt so disconnected without a tablet in the house and my phone charging.

Yeah I'm waiting on the Surface Pro's to come out. It might be next month or first part of next year.

Yeah, not too bad. I paid $899 for my Iconia 64gb w/ an i5 in it. Construction 1 street over, landscaping vehicles, school buses going down my street that has speed bumps, 20mph wind... everything sounds like UPS pulling up to deliver it to me. /fidget.
Cool! Yeah let me know what you think about the device once you get it. Sounds like a nice device as well.
