Hi there just joined your group and I think is great. I been a Dish subscriber for about 2 years now. I own a 921 and I have had some issues and from what I have read in the user threads I am not the only one apparently the 921 is a problematic dish box. I have the HD package and i have been reading about getting more local HD channels in 2006. I am in san juan, Puerto Rico and I can only get the CBS HD East from NY when ever the weather permits, the signal strenght is very weak and I almost never get it. I am subscribed to the Atlanta locals and the LA locals. My question is when this new market HD locals go in the air next year will i be able to get a HD signal from atlanta for my Networks like NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX instead of the only one I am getting from NY which is only for CBS? The problem is that down in Puerto Rico we dont have any stations or networks for that matter in HD and this sucks especially with all the great football games and other sporting events been broadcast in HD, please I need advice and sujections. If this problem I am having with CBS HD NY is the 921 or the signal form the satellites. I have 3 antes one for 119 one for 110 and the other one 65.5. I guess if this keeps up I am moving to the new dish box you been talking about the 622 i think is called.

Hopefully we be able to get all the HD new programs that DN is offer right now,The HD markets will also be available for us,ch 9935,36,and 37(these are the slots for those ch) are uplink on 61.5 and since you have lock that sat already you're suppouse to be able to get them without any problems if you are paying for the NY distant ch if you only pay for CBS I advise you to get the rest of the distant ch($5.99 for all) and VOOM package I got from the beginning so you can get all you want in HD from DN.:) Btw WIPR(ch6) will be HD by feb so with a OTA you can get the signal HD and if you have prblem with you dish alligment om 61.5 pm me and I can help you with that.
P.D Feliz Navidad

Thank you for your help, I am new here and i am still getting the use of this, so thats why i coulndt pm you directly. I have the HD package exept for VOOM beacuse i still dont know if its worth it unless you think i should. Right now I am having problems with 65.5 cause I am getting the CBS HD signal about 5 percet of the time and sometimes the HD DEMO channel goes out too. The other channels are working fine. I dont know if its the channel or the antenna here in my house but since I got all the other east coast networks from atlanta i would love to have HD from atlanta also, maybe there the signal will come in stong and without problems in HD. I would lvoe to have all the networks in HD, NBC, ABC, CBS, WB, FOX etc. cause alot of sporting events are broadcast thru them in HD and thats what i like the most. WIPR is coming in HD you say, wao then now I cant watch "Cultura Viva" in HD hahaha. Any tips let me know. thanks and Feliz Navidad to you too.

You problem with demo ch is I believe they still testing with ESPN2HD and because they are in the same tp(2) probably that's why is coming on and off,CBSHD was move from echo3 to rainbow1 and people lost sight of this ch so I suggest you to re align your 61.5 ,the only way I believe you will get you networks in HD is from NY market because is the feed we got the waiver to get CBS in the first place.VOOM are really cool but is a matter of taste,RAVE with the concerts is awesome ,Animania with old cartoons like Mr Magoo and Pink Panther I never though I would watch those in HD in my lifetime and Monster is by all my favorite.let's see the other channels DN will add in the coming weeks.:hungry:

Techno,
I'm also from Puerto Rico... I'm from Caguas.. I already have the HD Package but not the VOOM Channels.. I have dish 500 (110/119). I know that the VOOM Channels are in 61.5. The problem is .. that putting another dish in the roof is expensive.. Do I need a 6 footer to be able to lock into 61.5?
Does the new HD Channels that everybody is talking about that will come early next year... will come in 61.5? or in 110?
Feliz Navidad - Merry Christmas..

Hi Mylo:
Why expensive? the only you need to do is put on place a other dish(I use a 4' no 6') and depends how many receivers you have will be your switch setup.Since most of us use here legacy if you have more that two receivers you should use a SW64 to get in place without problems wit your other rids on the other hand if you only have 2 rids you can use a Sw21X and sw21(cascade) only for your HD receiver and between the new dish and the switches you shouldn't spend more than $150.00.Also if you don't have a pro installer to do the job you can DIY ,just get the azimuth(PR 176degrees and elevation 68. If you need any help pm me and help you any way I can.:)
How is Caguas and you new county tax.lololol.I use to live in Villa Nueva when I was in College.good place to live.

I hear most of the people on Puerto Rico are using a 6 footer because of channels fading out.... Also they also say that the 61.5 is weak in Puerto Rico.. Is that true? because if a 4' footer is all I need I will go ahead and add another dish to my roof.. I originally has a 4' foot on the 119 and a 5 footer on the 110 and the channels on the 119 were fading a lot.. I changed it to a 5 footer and now they are a lot better...

Please let me know what you think....

For international content no, for HD sometimes, the transponders use by E* to transmit VOOM HD content( tp 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17)some of then are distant to our footprint that's why some people has fading issues and it was more easier to go with a big dish to get it done, however this option here is way to expensive. Some installers want to do a quick buck and left you with the weakest signal they could get, that's the reason you move to a 5' to your 119 when a lot a people are using a 3'
without any problems.I keep thinking the 4' will do the job,is doing for me and for costumers that I did the job for them.Big dealers will advise you to spent $ 800.00 in a 8' channel master,I'm one of those that put myself in others people shoes and find the way to do it right and share with all of us.

Is good that we can set up a good threat for the hommies here in Puerto Rico, since we are all left out of the main land we got to fence for ourselves. I was cheking my set up and this is what i got. I got the 921 dish box, which sometime gives me problems with dates and stuff like that, is a weird box but it does the job so far. I got 3 dishes up in my roof, yeah it looks like the headquarters for the NSA. jajaja. I got one big 6 footer altought i dont know to what dish that one is pointed the guy guy installed it told me but i forgot. I got two normal Puerto rico style dishes, when I say Puerto Rico style I mean that the size is the one dish and direct tv use here since we can not use the little antenas the people in the states are luckily to use. I am having so mucho trouble with the 61.5 is incredible. CBS in none existent, Techguy you told me they changed it to the rainbow sat but that like greek to me dont knwo what you mean by that, more help need it there. And the HD demo is the same it tells me this message as well as the CBS HD "Channel 9443 Lost Lock. Please wait, or channel up / down Satellite: 61.5 Transponder: 2" Same with CBS but in channel 9483 Transponder 17
I need my CBS series in HD once you see them your changed for ever I got a Sony 40xbr800 going to waste here cause HD to me is only ESPN and Discovery which means only like American Chopper in HD hahaha. Feliz Año Nuevo to the PR guys and all of you out there. PS Any info you got on FTA let me know looking up into some FTA solutions also. San Juan Cheking out

Well it seems to me you have the 6' to 61.5 (and still no getting VOOM and CBSHD?)921, ouch, when you surf this and other forums you'll understand what I mean.:) By your report all your dishes are off allin, there's no way with a 6 footer you have fading issues with 61.5,regardless you have a very temperamental box. What is you switch setup a SW64? Sw21x? or you're using DP equipment?Rainbow 1 is the sat E* bought from Rainbow media former owners of VOOM Satellite a sub for Cablevision a $200M deal.Rainbow1 it was their sat and is on the same spot echo3 is,CBSHD is on tp 17 on Rainbow and HD demo is on tp2 with EPN2HD but on Echo3.In Spanish (estamos usando 2 satelites con 1 plato pero en el mismo lugar)so I hope this explanation clear you in what we're are talking about.:up
