Will my split arc work again?

Hi all - I was a Dish customer for 15 years with a split system looking at 110, 119 and 61.5. A little over a year ago Dish told me that I would need to upgrade my dish to see a new satellite. Long story short, they sent out a guy with very little knowledge regarding the actual location of the satellites and I got frustrated and cancelled my service.

Now I am deciding between Dish and cable. When I called Dish they told me I would be able to get all of the channels with my existing setup and would not need a new dish. I said "wait a minute - one of the main reasons I left was that I couldn't get all of the programming on my current dishes. Are you sure this is correct?" I was told that they had "moved things around" in the past year.

I have searched quite a bit, but have not seen this specific question answered. Should I be able to get all of the Dish Network programming (in HD - no need for SD any longer) with a split system looking at 110, 119 and 61.5?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Sean

Hell no! The only stuff they moved around was to take all HD (other than locals) off 61.5 and put it on 72.7. Now it's plausible that you could reorient your 61.5 dish to 72.7 and get everything but your locals... Most (?) new installs for EA customers use a two LNB DPP twin that can only receive those two sats. So you might consider a new install with a more competent installer.

Definitely not. To get most HD, you need either 129 or 72. To get your locals in HD on the EA you need 61.5. You will not need the third satellite on the EA, 77.
