I was just wondering if anone knew the answer on this one. If you saw my other thread I'm going back and forth between LA, and from what was said in the other thread, I'm in luck and local networks will work.

1) Can anyone confirm if I'll also be able to catch all of the birds 99,101,103,110,119

2) I have an older triple LNB Directv eleptical dish already installed from a few years ago, it's not in use but I'm pretty sure it was for 101,110,119 at the time.

Do I need to upgrade the Dish itself for 99,103?

3) I've heard there are issues witht he Slimline LNB and cold temperatures, well it doesn't get much colder and more snow than a Montreal Winter, which specific 5 LNB model should I buy that is "Winter Ready" ?

Thank you!

I dont see why you would not be able to catch all sats - for sure you should be able to get the main 3.

99 and 103 are for locals. if you dont subscribe to them then you dont need them.
on 99 and 103 you will see those transponders that are within you spotbeam.

If you sub is in LA you should see the 4 major networks in the 380's. That should work for you anywhere you take the receiver since those locals are not spotbeamed.

As for your dish - i am not sure if you will lose anything by using the older dish but I think you are better off getting a slimline dish installed - I have had one installed for 2 years without a problem - and i am in a very cold climate. If you can get 101,110, and 119 with that dish and never plan to "move" from LA then I guess you can go with that older dish.
