WiFi Direct: Bluetooth functionality on regular WiFi devices

It looks like just a standardization issue with certification to follow
Wi-Fi Direct certification begins today, device-to-device transmission starting soon -- Engadget
And Galaxy S might be the first handset getting the certification
Samsung Galaxy S first smartphone to be Wi-Fi Direct certified -- Engadget

If this takes off Bluetooth most likely will become obsolete fast...

Frankly, I was surprised that BT made it.

I believe BT was practically buried more than once.
But in the end won over WiFi in the very short range wireless connectivity (e.g. headsets) due to less interference...
