I was wondering when this would be happening, surprised it didn't happen sooner. With the launch of Teams and take off of Zoom, Microsoft was never able to bring Skype back to it's glory days. Where I used to work, our parent company used Skype for Business, which essentially was a retooled Microsoft Lync, and I had an account for it under their AD. Very clunky, not user friendly at all, once SfB was officially sunset I thought normal Skype was right behind it.

I remember back in 2010-11ish, I found the APK for the Skype Android app, the app was exclusive to Verizon Wireless at the time. My buddy and myself sideloaded Skype and were having video calls on our HTC Evo before most people realized something like this was even possible. Good times.
