ok I as you know have been trying to get a d1000 (for free). This has been postponed so new challenge is to get a dp44 switch for free. Now, some of you might be wondering why i just don't go out and buy them... well simple answer to that is I'm 16 and broke, thats not even a joke .
My theory is to have dish come out and install the dish that points to 148, i already have 110, 119. So all i need is a fourth sat. My explanation for this is that the dp34 can only have 3 sats. but the dp44 can handle 4. So my question to you is (said in james bond voice) what sat can i have at a forth thats cheap.
Also is the sky angle bill on the dish bill?
If not can I just say that i subscribe to sky angle.
I don't have an HDTV yet (hopping a deal goes though) so i can't subscribe to voom.
Any ideas??

They will charge you for that switch, plain and simple. They aren't cheap and someone has to pay for them. Unfortunately, that means the customer does. If you can get one for free, that would be awesome, BUT....I really don't think you will.

thanks for the reply... I will continue my quest... do u know if sky angle is on the dishnet bill? now i just wanted to say i dont want a dpp44 just to have one, we are upgrading to a dual tunner and there is no way we can run a second cable ( unless we drill a hole in our very nice and very expensive new siding). if the dpp34 switch was out i would want that. but i need the single cable. just wanted to clear that up.

Get a job and you can pay for that switch and dish, and that aint no joke either, dont try taking money out of my pocket because you want my company to give you something for free, and techs wont step foot in a house if the person there is 16 because of company policy.

Ok I now im going to have to pay for some part of it but the cheapest place i can find it is for 170. I have a job but all that money goes to car insurance, and parts for my motorcycle. Being 16 my insurance is $6000 a year yes that much. So you can kind of see how fast my cash runs away from me. I would buy the switch if i could find it for about 80-100 bucks. I just cant front the $200 for it.

aint gonna get any sympathy from us here.

Sky Angel is an independent company of Echostar/Dish Network. It is a separate bill and you'd have to pay for the sdwitch for that

If not can I just say that i subscribe to sky angle.
Sky Angel subs pay for their equipment. If they have Dish and want to get Sky Angel, they have to pay for the extra switch and dish

What????? You're wrangling a deal for an HDTV and you're BROKE?
yea I would be getting it for about 75 bucks ( i can afford that). Friend just broke his lcd (bad power suppy or board, I think p/s) I was going to buy it and try to fix it (that whole geek thing).

First thing is Sky Angle is Sky Angel so maybe you need to spend more time on your home work and less time watching TV.

Second thing is Dish does not get any money if you subscribe to Sky Angel there fore you will have to buy any equipment necessary to receive it.

Third thing is I as a Stock Holder and Consumer really don't want to pay for you to have extra equipment you don't need.

I have a 3.75 GPA so no i dont need to spend more time on h/w. And let me just change the subject a little... Does anyone know where I can find a dpp44 switch from 75-100 bucks. I have said before cant afford $200 but i can afford $75-$100. thanks

Hi :) come on guys give him a break :) this could be the start of a new hobby for him :) but stay legit :) The best place to try would be ebay ;) that would most likely be the cheepest.. other than that your going to pay some $$$$$. What you could do is put away 20 bucks a month or so and save it untill you get enough for what you need then go and buy it. hope this helps. :)

thanks for the advice, I have another question the D1000 looks like it has a dpp twin on it, that can do the one cable thing to the 625. But i also have too other rooms so how would a installer go about doing this install. I just heard that the dpp twin can't be used with a dp34 ( Im going to buy the dpp44 I just wanted to know how they do installs like that). oh and I love EBAY

Okay, I'm trying to be helpful now. :) You say you want 148, right? Do you really need 148? If not, you could replace your Dish 500 with the Dish 1000 (less than $100).

Advantages: sees 110/119/129; uses DPP technology (like the DPP44); cheaper than DPP44

Disadvantages: would need a switch to get 148; you'd have to mount it yourself to save any money

Edit: Just took a call. Looks like I waited to long to hit the "send" key.

They would replace your DPP Twin and put on a DP twin and us a DP34 switch and run two lines to you 625 and one wire to each of the other rooms.

Im in Sacramento so the locals (2 of them) are on both 148 and 129. Called dish can't say how many times still no dish1000 install for me, yet. Im hoping i can talk them into it. mostly because I talked to a local dealer and they have been using D1000 for 4 weeks now for new installs. If not i will get the second dish, switch, and so on...
NEW IDEA, I have two dishes one with the dpp twin for the 625 and then a second dish for the other two tvs. Could that work. I have a dish all est up now for 2 tv's then when the come out to give me the second i just take off the lbn add a dpp twin and send the single cable to the 625.

P.s... I dont care how many dishes I have, Maybe I can even be able to take a pic and send it into u guys for my dish farm.

Call Dish and tell them you need the other 2 channel that are on 148 and they will come out and put up a dish for free at 148 if not a D1000. If they do the 148 dish just go out and repoint it or ask the installer to aim it at 129 for you.

Dish Network adds 2 more Korean Channels
