Why No local HD Channel for News 3 in Phoenix

well since its an Independent station Dish doesnt seem to be picking these up. Just the Big 4 networks
It could be a very long wait for dish! However, I would think OTA would be a good option. Being situated in a flat valley, I would think that OTA reception would be excellent almost everywhere in the Phoenix metro. What STB do you have?
OTA is tricky for some. My brother lives in a new community 30 miles southeast of the towers and can't get anything from Phoenix. He does pull in most of the Tucson locals from over 70 miles away.

I am amazed that D* has picked up the HD feed of an independent station that just went digital. But kudos to them if it is true!
I stand corrected. They did uplink it (TP20 on 110 satellite) but on www.dishchannelchart.com it shows as not available yet
Ahhhhh hate to break it to you...but Dbacks games have been in HD for 2 seasons already. Granted the games were very limited, but I got them OTA HD Dbacks games for at least the past 2 years. FSNAZ and 3TV share the same production equipment, so whenever FSNAZ went HD so did the DBacks on 3TV.
Now if MY45 could get their $hit together I could watch the Suns with the local broadcast in lieu of the assclowns on TNT.

According to wikipedia the news just started in HD but it is possible that sports etc has been HD for awhile.
This is the second and last year for HD Diamondbacks games on channel 3 in Phoenix. This is the last year of their contract. News broadcasts are full bandwidth 1080i and it looks great. D'backs games are 720p cross converted to 1080i. My neighbor who has Qwest digital also gets channel 3 HD. I get my locals OTA.
I don't see 6450 in the guide. Is there something I have to do? I have a 622, the HD package and get the PHX locals.
I did send KTVK (channel 3) and Dish a letter requesting they carry the HD signal. I received a grammatically incorrect letter from Dish stating that I should not hold my breath waiting for KTVK in HD. I never received a response from KTVK.

Channel 3 broadcast digital on channel 24 and is one of the easier stations to pick up OTA. Its very worth the effort to get 3, 8, 61, and sometimes 45 in HD.
